The cherry-on-top is singing with my beloved, wild, and extremely talented daughter.” Wynonna followed up by saying, “What I’m looking forward to most is celebrating Judd music with the fans. HYPOCRISY has announced the addition of “session” drummer Henrik Axelsson to the group’s ranks. Earlier today (Tuesday, April 12), HYPOCRISY released the following statement via social media: “Please welcome Henrik Axelsson! This talented Swedish musician played in IMPLODE and SOILS OF FATE. Since 2014, he is the drummer for THE CROWN. Now Henrik is going to join HYPOCRISY as a session member. Looking forward to performing together”. Longtime HYPOCRISY drummer Reidar “Horgh” Horghagen left the band earlier in the month. At the time, the band said about the split: “It’s not easy for us. We’ve played together for 18 crazy years filled with music, tours and friendship. So many countries, so many songs, and so many gigs with Horgh on ...
Jimmy Page says that he is working on “multiple” projects. Although the LED ZEPPELIN guitarist reportedly turned down an offer to contribute a guest solo to Ozzy Osbourne‘s new album, he has since revealed that he hasn’t been sitting idle. “There’s various things I’m working towards,” Page told Classic Rock magazine in a new interview. “It’s not just one thing, it’s multiple things, and I don’t want to even give a hint, because if you do … you give a one-sentence sound bite, and then if it doesn’t materialize, it’s like: ‘Why didn’t you do a solo album?’ So I don’t want to say what it is that I’ve got planned, because I don’t want to give people the chance to misinterpret...
In a recent interview with Nik Nocturnal, PAPA ROACH frontman Jacoby Shaddix spoke about how the band’s classic 2000 song “Last Resort” has sparked so many memes over the years. “It’s everywhere, dude,” he said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “It’s even in my house, with my kids. It’s funny, dude. It’s one of those things that, honestly, I’m absolutely grateful for because we have a cult classic and a best-seller wrapped into one. And in meme culture, people take the piss out of it, and I love it, ’cause it means that you’ve made it into the fabric of pop culture and we’re part of the landscape of what people are talking about still. And what else can you ask for? It’s such a great thing. And ev...
Alice Cooper will keep his show on the road this fall with a newly announced set of North American dates. The legendary shock rocker will embark on a month-long outing beginning in early September. Since the concert industry started to open back up last year, Cooper has been a road dog. The fall “Detroit Muscle” tour kicks off September 7th in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and runs through an October 8th show in Las Vegas. No opener has been announced yet, but tickets go on sale this Friday at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster, with a VIP pre-sale beginning tomorrow (April 12th). Advertise...
Last week, Interpol announced their new album The Other Side of Make-Believe by sharing lead single “Toni,” and the first part of an accompanying short film. Now, the band is back to finish the story with “Something Changed.” Check out the single and visual below. “In ‘Something Changed,’ part 2 of our short film with Van Alpert, reality and reverie converge and our two lead characters find themselves in a kind of dream state — being pursued inexorably by an ominous figure (played by myself),” Interpol singer Paul Banks explained in a statement. “The lives of the three are intertwined in a nebula of fear, retribution, desire, and defiance.” The track matches the melancholy piano of “Toni” with equally foreboding keys. “I waded through shame for this,” Banks sings, in his famously resi...

RATING: 8/10 GREYHAVEN‘s third full-length is a meditation on despair and death. Chaotic metal reminiscent of EVERY TIME I DIE oscillates with slower, softer alt-rock like the crests and troughs of a wave. But there is no watershed moment where all the emotion comes to a head; rather, the ironically titled “This Bright and Beautiful World” explores various phases of depression without ever truly finding a way out. In this way, the album is an accurate depiction of what living with depression is really like: cycling through anger, frustration, monotony, sadness and hopelessness. As if approaching the edge of insanity, the intense dissonance of “The Quiet Shakes” is disorienting, echoing the lyric, “The room is spinning.” Moments like this, as well a...
SOUNDGARDEN guitarist Kim Thayil, NIRVANA bassist Krist Novoselic and SOUNDGARDEN and PEARL JAM drummer Matt Cameron have joined forces in a new band called 3RD SECRET. The group, whose lineup is rounded out by Bubba Dupree, guitarist for D.C. hardcore outfit VOID and alt-metal supergroup HATER (also featuring Cameron), and vocalists Jennifer Johnson and Jillian Raye (Novoselic‘s bandmate in GIANTS IN THE TREES), surprised-released its self-titled debut album, recorded and mixed by famed Seattle producer Jack Endino, on Monday (April 11). Novoselic hinted at 3RD SECRET‘s existence in February, writing in a since-deleted tweet: “I am really busy trying to finish a record. In the middle of some hangups — looking for a mid-March release. But it’s a secret, so don’...
Legendary vocalist Ann Wilson has once again denied rumors of a rift with her sister and HEART bandmate Nancy. In a new interview in the 300th issue of Classic Rock, Ann said that she is “not” feuding with her younger sister. “It’s a myth,” she insisted. “Nancy and I are okay with each other. We just have different ideas for what HEART should be, and we haven’t figured out a compromise yet. “Fifty years on, I still want it to break barriers and rules, and she’s more satisfied to ride the L.A. imaging thing and just do legacy stuff,” Ann explained. “So that’s a real split between us. Things like this will happen, though, but then they’ll get better, and we’ll love each other more.” Relations between the two ...
