DOLLY PARTON ‘Respectfully’ Removes Herself From ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Consideration

Dolly Parton has taken herself out of the running to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame later this year. Earlier today, the 76-year-old country music legend asked the Hall to withdraw her name from the 2022 ballot, saying “I don’t feel that I have earned the right.” Parton was one of 17 artists nominated for the Rock Hall class of 2022, along with Eminem, Lionel Richie, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, JUDAS PRIEST and Beck, among others. Writing on social media, Parton told her fans: “Dolly here! Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t feel that I have earned that right. I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out. “I do hope that the R...

HOT WATER MUSIC – HOT WATER MUSIC

RATING: 8.5/10 HOT WATER MUSIC sound like a band that are sure of their identity, which is just what one would expect from musicians who have been writing since the mid ’90s. As exemplified by the single “Collect Your Things and Run”, they abide by a confident simplicity that shows no signs of faltering, even in times of anxiety. (“You’re not the only one in your head/ Don’t lose track now, the right ones must be fed/ I tell ya now, don’t wait, don’t hesitate, I know/ Don’t lose track of yourself.”) “Feel The Void” is an album armed with both the wisdom of experience and the diehard enthusiasm of punk rock. The songs are blunt and straightforward, yet there is enough variety on the record to keep things interesting. &#...

TOOL Won’t Take 13 Years To Release Next Studio Album

In a new interview with the Cleveland Scene, TOOL drummer Danny Carey said that the band’s fans won’t have to wait another 13 years for a new studio album, like they did prior to the arrival of 2019’s “Fear Inoculum”. “It was frustrating not having new material to play, but that time really flew by quickly,” he said. “I guess that’s just the nature of life. It’s like when you have kids, and they’re grown up, and you go, ‘What happened?’ It took a long time, but we did a lot of touring and tried to grow in different ways and take a break from each other to keep things fresh. We also wanted to bring in outside influences, so we would have something new to say to each other musically. It all came together really wel...

MAMMOTH WVH’s WOLFGANG VAN HALEN On How He Approaches Being A Frontman: ‘I’m Very Much Myself’

During an appearance on the “Walking The Floor With Chris Shiflett” podcast, Wolfgang Van Halen was asked to describe the kind of frontman he is when he and his MAMMOTH WVH bandmates perform live. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I’m very much myself, to a certain degree. It’s not much of a, [in high-pitched voice] ‘What the fuck is up, everybody?’ I think everybody would expect, from a cynical distance, if they know nothing about it, they probably assume me to be like David Lee Roth-esque and be, like, ‘wow’ in between every vocal. Maybe that’ll be a phase I reach at some point, but right now I’m just myself and I talk to the audience, I tell stories in between songs about what you’re about to hear....

We have very much communication. And it’s been 40 years [since TNT‘s formation]. But we’re trying to bring the band back together and hopefully make one last tour of Europe and maybe America… I think we might wanna end the TNT chapter with dignity and do one last tour.” Last April, Harnell, who has been in a...
