Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak Kick Off Silk Sonic Las Vegas Residency: Recap + Setlist

Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak) began their Las Vegas residency on Friday (February 25th), transforming the Dolby Live theater at Park MGM into a seventies disco. The superduo — whose live appearances have thus far been limited to awards shows — threw what might just be the sexiest dance party Sin City has ever seen. The mood for “An Evening With Silk Sonic” was set from the get-go, as wisps of fog spilled out from under a red velvet curtain while guests settled into their seats. When the venue went dark, signaling the start of the show, the crowd roared in unison. Two screens on opposite sides of the stage flashed images of Silk Sonic sipping cocktails in a tropical setting with flowery button-up shirts, while a giant disco ball hung high above the seats. As the curtain lifted,...

DORO PESCH Reflects On Darker Chapters Of Her Life: If It Hadn’t Been For The Fans, ‘I Probably Would Have Killed Myself’

In a new interview with Waste Some Time With Jason Green, German metal queen Doro Pesch was asked if she has ever thought about writing an autobiography. She responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “At one time I started writing a book, and then I couldn’t take it anymore. I really couldn’t sleep anymore; I got nightmares. Because if you really wanna think about the truth, oh, man, it’s worse than a horror movie. And I thought, man, I’d rather wanna move on, do more good stuff, give out good power, energy, records and do a great tour and not thinking about all the times where I almost lost my life — many times. It was so hardcore and actually almost unbelievable, I think. I haven’t seen a movie that hardcore yet. So when I was starting to write, ...

MEGADETH Bassist JAMES LOMENZO And Ex-LAMB OF GOD Drummer CHRIS ADLER Join MYRONE On ‘Track Day’ Single

Soft-shred pioneer and rising guitar god Myrone has released his latest single and video, “Track Day”, featuring the inimitable Chris Adler (drums, ex-LAMB OF GOD, MEGADETH) and James LoMenzo (bass, MEGADETH). A follow-up to his recent single “Soft Shred”, this new track will appear on his upcoming album, due for release next month. Boasting a ubiquitous playing style rooted in caustic but soulful riffs and technical fireworks, Myrone has made a name for himself as solo artist, studio musician (recent credits include the Netflix original “Cobra Kai” soundtrack) and member of international metal supergroup FIRSTBORNE, also featuring Adler and LoMenzo. “Track Day” is filled with serpentine riffs, a profound melodic sensibility and more than a d...

ALICE COOPER Is Putting ‘Final Touches’ On New Album, Says Bassist CHUCK GARRIC

ALICE COOPER bassist Chuck Garric has confirmed to Metal Rules that the legendary rocker’s upcoming follow-up to last year’s “Detroit Stories” album will feature Alice‘s entire current touring band consisting of Garric, guitarists Nita Strauss, Tommy Henriksen and Ryan Roxie, and drummer Glen Sobel. “[Cooper‘s longtime producer] Bob Ezrin and Alice approached us and said they wanted to do a band album, so we all started filing in songs and ideas from each member,” Chuck said. “Bob also got some other outside members to write songs. We collectively got in a room like anything and started making it come to life. We have tracked everything for the most part and just doing some final touches. We are still a bit away from it being complete, ...

Space Force Director Ken Kwapis on Making Changes For Season 2

Over the course of several decades, director Ken Kwapis has established a career working in both film and television, with plenty of feature work including Follow That Bird and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but also notably directing the pilots for two truly game-changing series: The Larry Sanders Show and the American adaptation of The Office. It was the latter assignment which led to his most recent project: the second season of Space Force, created by The Office‘s Greg Daniels and Steve Carell. While the first season had plenty of charms, including a truly stacked comedy ensemble including Carell, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, Jimmy O. Yang, and Don Lake, those involved have been open about knowing that the second season could improve on the first....

Tool Set Retail Release for Ultra Deluxe Fear Inoculum Vinyl (At Much Lower Price Than Signed Version)

Tool raised some eyebrows when they recently began selling limited autographed copies of a new “Ultra Deluxe” vinyl edition of their 2019 album Fear Inoculum at their concerts for $810 ($750 plus service fees and taxes). Now, the band has set a retail price for the unsigned set at the much lower cost of $169.98, with a release date of April 8th. Several days ago, a Reddit thread went viral when someone posted a photo of the deluxe 5-LP collection at a Tool merch booth with the sticker price of $810. Even considering the base price of $750, the newly announced unsigned retail version arrives at a cost that’s $580 lower. That comes out to be around $145 for each band member’s autograph. For diehard Tool fans, perhaps that’s a reasonable price to pay to get all four signatures on the same ite...

CANNIBAL CORPSE Drummer Says ‘It’s A Complete Compliment’ Being Called The ‘MOTÖRHEAD Of Death Metal’

In a new interview with the “Metal Mayhem” podcast, CANNIBAL CORPSE drummer and founding member Paul Mazurkiewicz was asked if he takes it as a compliment when his band is referred to as the “MOTÖRHEAD of death metal,” as was the case in a recent review in the U.K. magazine Kerrang! He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I totally take it as a compliment. Because you get what you get; when you’re gonna listen to CANNIBAL CORPSE, you’re gonna buy a new record, you know what you’re getting. There’s gonna be no second guessing; there’s gonna be no, ‘Oh, I wonder what they’re gonna… Is it gonna sound like this?’ Because so many bands have done that in the past. “We’re being ourselves,” ...

Jillian Rose has declared a Banks holiday: The pop artist’s new album, Serpentina, arrives April 8th, and to celebrate the announcement she debuted the song “Holding Back” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Banks took the ABC stages in a modern three-piece suit: slacks, blazer, and cutaway bra. This is the latest preview of Serpentina following her two summer singles from last year, the slowed-down “Skinnydipped” and the deliciously sinful “The Devil.” In a statement, Banks explained how she arrived at the title of her next album, writing, “Snakes represent rebirth and th...
