SLIPKNOT’s COREY TAYLOR On PANTERA’s ‘Vulgar Display Of Power’: “It’s Still One Of My Favorite Albums’

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor was one of the musicians who joined Lou Brutus of HardDrive Radio to celebrate the 30th anniversary of PANTERA‘s classic sophomore major label album “Vulgar Display Of Power”. Speaking about the impact the LP had on his musical upbringing, Taylor said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I remember where I was when that album came out, man. I was listening to that incessantly. I was working at the RV center that my grandma got me a job at. ‘Cause I didn’t wanna cut my hair and I couldn’t work anywhere else, man, so I was washing RVs for nine hours a day during the day in the hottest summer I’d ever felt. And it was intense, dude. And all I had was that tape — I had that tape and [a cassette from...

GHOST’s TOBIAS FORGE Explains Why He Decided To Re-Team With ‘Meliora’ Producer For ‘Impera’ Album

In a new interview with El Paso Inc., GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge spoke his decision to record the band’s upcoming album “Impera” with producer Klas Åhlund, who also sat behind the desk for 2015’s acclaimed “Meliora” effort. Asked why he chose to end his streak of working with a different producer on each new GHOST LP, Tobias said: “The thing is you need to keep moving so that you don’t get stuck in friendly comfortable mode. ‘Meliora’, the record I made with Klas, was really good, but the recording and the production itself left a few things to be improved. When time came to record ‘Impera’, the writing and demoing had been done in 2020. But in early 2021, the American producer who was supposed to make the record co...

New FEAR FACTORY Singer Is Italian, Claims Ex-NIGHTRAGE Frontman ANTONY HÄMÄLÄINEN

Former NIGHTRAGE singer Antony Hämäläinen, who recently unsuccessfully auditioned for the vocalist slot in FEAR FACTORY, claims that he knows the identity of the person who has been chosen to replace original FF frontman Burton C. Bell. “I know who it’s gonna be,” he says in a interview with Pierre Gutiérrez of Rock Talks (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “So I already know it’s gonna be. But it’s not me. So that’s the thing — I know it’s not me. That’s the unfortunate part. I know it’s not me.” Pressed about the identity of the new FEAR FACTORY singer, Antony said: “I’ll say this: it’s a person from Italy. And there was a girl involved [who auditioned as well, but didn’t get the gig]. That rumor ...

Russian metallers SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL have denounced their country’s invasion of Ukraine and have called for “this nightmare” to end “as soon as possible.” Earlier today, the extreme metal group, which is based in Yekaterinburg, the fourth-largest city in Russia, shared the following message via social media: “No to war! Our band has nothing to do with politics, we do not take sides. We are for all peaceful inhabitants of this world and for world peace. We do not accept ANY military action. We wish all of you and your loved ones, relatives and friends to stay safe and hope this nightmare ends as soon as possible.” Just hours earlier, hundreds of anti-war protesters took to the streets of the Yekaterinburg — which is the largest city in the Ural Fe...

Kanye West Is in the Studio with… Beach House?

Kanye West has worked with a number of surprising collaborators over the years: From Bon Iver to Arca to that contentious Aphex Twin sample, nobody’s off the table as long as they remain on Ye’s good side. But after his public shitshow on social media earlier this month, the rapper is evidently ready to chill out a bit, which explains why he’s been in the studio with the masters of chill themselves, Beach House. Ye shared a series of photos on his Instagram Saturday, February 26th, that appear to show him working alongside Beach House’s Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally. The photos were captioned with an ocean wave emoji, and tagged with the dreampop duo’s account. While this team-up might come as a shock, Ye isn’t the only rapper to take a liking to Beach House’s hazy indie pop. Jay-Z and ...

Liam Gallagher Lights Up Fallon with “Everything’s Electric”: Watch

Earlier this month, Liam Gallagher offered a preview of his forthcoming solo album C’MON YOU KNOW with the lead single “Everything’s Electric.” Last night, the former Oasis singer brought the song’s spark to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as the evening’s musical guest. Considering he once led one of the best Britpop bands in history, Gallagher doesn’t need much to electrify a stage. Even with Dave Grohl absent (the Foo Fighters frontman plays drums in the studio recording), “Everything’s Electric” has the power to bring arena-sized magic into a compact TV studio. Watch Gallagher perform on Fallon below. C’MON YOU KNOW, Gallagher’s third solo album, is due out May 27th. Gallagher isn’t the only ex-Oasis member with new solo music out. Recently, he shared his hon...

Snoop Dogg Facing Potential Lawsuit from Uber Eats Driver

Snoop Dogg could face a lawsuit for publicly putting an Uber Eats driver on blast. As CBS Los Angeles points out, the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer took to his Instagram story last month to complain about a delivery driver who failed to deliver his order. Snoop’s video included his message exchange with the driver, whose name is Sayd, and who said the rapper’s neighborhood was “not a safe place.” Now, Sayd says he might sue Snoop for posting his personal information in the video, including his first name, photo, and license plate number. “There’s my picture there and also there is my first name,” Sayd said of Snoop Dogg’s Instagram post. “After I saw the video, I’m kind of like, I have high anxiety and I fear for my family’s safety. I contacted the customer many times and I followed t...

Bassist Eugene Abdukhanov of Ukrainian modern metallers JINJER has released a new video message in which he condemned Russia’s invasion of his country, saying “this war cannot be justified by anything.” Russian president Vladimir Putin‘s military aggression — which has been described by U.S. president Joe Biden as an “unprovoked and unjustified attack” on Ukraine — has resulted in nearly 200 deaths so far, including civilians, three of whom were children, according to Ukraine’s health minister. Earlier today, Abdukhanov shared a heartfelt video message via JINJER‘s social media in which he urged all music fans and “the people of the civilized world” to do whatever they can to secure international support to respond to Russia. He s...

DEE SNIDER ‘Absolutely’ Approves Of Ukrainians Using ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ As Their Battle Cry: ‘F**k Russia’

TWISTED SISTER singer Dee Snider says that he “absolutely” approves of Ukrainians using the band’s song “We’re Not Gonna Take It” as their battle cry while they are fighting back against the Russian invasion. On Thursday (February 24), Russian president Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in the east of Ukraine. A short time later, explosions were reported in the outskirts of Kharkiv, Kramatorsk and Mariupol, as well as the capital Kyiv. Putin made the announcement during a televised early morning speech, peddling accusations of Nazi elements within Ukraine to justify the attack on his western neighbor, a move that experts slammed as slanderous and false. (Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy is Jewish and lost three fa...

During an appearance on this past Thursday’s (February 24) episode of SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”, Wolfgang Van Halen said that he is hoping to begin working on the follow-up to MAMMOTH WVH‘s self-titled debut LP at some point in the not-too-distant future. “We’ve got a busy year [of touring] ahead of us,” he said. “I think we’re trying to find some time this year to get back in the studio and do another album. I don’t wanna guarantee anything, but I’d like to get that done as soon as possible.” Unlike “Mammoth WVH”, which arrived last June, some five years after the former VAN HALEN bassist began piecing together ideas for his solo career, the next MAMMOTH WVH LP won’t take nearl...

KING’S X guitarist Ty Tabor spoke to Chris Akin of The CMS Network about the progress of the recording sessions for the band’s follow-up to 2008’s “XV” album. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “[We recorded it] during 2019 and continued to work on it during COVID, just at individual studios. I added some additional vocals down here [at my studio] and actually another guitar part on a song. And we sent tapes around. Jerry [Gaskill, drums] added some more vocals. Doug [Pinnick, bass/vocals] added some more vocals. And we also had Wally Farkas [GALACTIC COWBOYS] singing on the record; he added some more [vocals]. “But other than that stuff being done after we left California, the record is done,” he explained. “And it’s a...
