RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS To Release ‘Unlimited Love’ Album In April; First Single ‘Black Summer’ To Arrive Tomorrow

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS‘ new album, “Unlimited Love”, will be released on April 1 via Warner. The 17-song, 73-minute effort includes lead single “Black Summer” which will be officially made available tomorrow (Friday, February 4). RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS‘s first new album with guitarist John Frusciante since 2006’s “Stadium Arcadium” was once again produced by Rick Rubin who previously worked on “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” (1991), “Californication” (1999), “By The Way” (2002) and the aforementioned “Stadium Arcadium”. The band stated about the new record: “Our only goal is to get lost in the music. We (John, Anthony, Chad and Flea) spent thousands of hours, collectively and individually, hon...

ROB HALFORD Admits It Was His Idea For JUDAS PRIEST To Tour As Quartet: ‘That Blew Up In My Face, Didn’t It?’

JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford has admitted that it was his idea for the group to announce its plan to embark on the next leg of its 50th-anniversary tour as a quartet. “That all came from me, it didn’t come from the band,” Halford told Billboard, explaining that he thought since the band was founded as a four-piece it would be appropriate to return to that for a 50th-anniversary celebration. “Of course, that blew up in my face, didn’t it? To have done something like a four-piece now would’ve been just not right, ridiculous, insane, crazy, off my rocker, have a cup of tea and relax. It’s kind of water under the bridge now. I think my heart was in the right place, but I’m not the first musician to have a crazy idea.” On January 10, JU...

BRUCE DICKINSON: ‘Half Of Us Are Gonna Get Cancer, And It’s Not A Death Sentence Anymore’

IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson, who was diagnosed with throat cancer back in late 2014, was asked during the question-and-answer portion of his January 18 spoken-word show in Orlando, Florida what advice he would give to anyone getting ready to start their own battle against cancer. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Here’s the way I dealt with it… And people will deal with it in different ways. I embraced the treatment. So I went along to see the big radiation machine and I said, ‘Okay, how does this work then? What does it do? And how much are you giving me and where? And how are you making a difference between this one and this one and this one? And you can do what with it? Wow, that’s really cool. That’s amazing. It’s insane, the...

Kate McKinnon and Kyle MacLachlan Hunt Down Joe Exotic in Official Trailer for Joe vs. Carole: Watch

Even though Tiger King might’ve made audiences feel like we knew everything about its rather colorful cast of characters, Netflix’s smash true crime series left us with more questions than answers about the feud between Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic — as well as Baskin’s own checkered history. Today, Peacock has unveiled the official trailer for its forthcoming limited series Joe vs. Carole, in which Kate McKinnon and Kyle MacLachlan seek revenge on the most infamous man in the big cat kingdom. Joe vs. Carole is based on Robert Moor’s podcast Joe Exotic, and presents a fictionalized retelling of the story that made Carole and Joe household names. When Carole (McKinnon) learns that her nemesis and fellow big cat enthusiast, Joe Exotic (John Cameron Mitchell), has been bre...

Scream Sequel Greenlit with Production Beginning This Summer

Ghostface is officially coming back to Woodsboro. Today, Paramount and Spyglass announced that a sixth movie in the Scream franchise has been greenlit. The news comes as little surprise, given the success of last month’s Scream, which brought the return of original stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette alongside a new set of Gen Z slasher victims. As the first film in Wes Craven’s genre-defining horror series since 2011’s Scream 4, the fifth movie briefly dethroned Spider-Man: No Way Home for a single weekend as the top movie in the box office upon its January 14th release. While there’s no word yet on whether Sidney Prescott and her pals will return for the upcoming sequel — or any other casting, for that matter — Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will be back as dir...

Murderville: How They Made Will Arnett’s Wild Improvised Cop Comedy for Netflix

The premise for Netflix’s new semi-unscripted comedy Murderville isn’t actually that hard to explain, on the surface: Each episode, shot in the style of a classic police procedural, features a new mystery being investigated by a tough mustachioed cop (Will Arnett) and his trainee partner. The catch is that said trainee is a celebrity, and they don’t have any idea what’s going on, because only Arnett and the other actors have the script. This leaves famous folks like Season 1 guest stars Conan O’Brien, Marshawn Lynch, Kumail Nanjiani, Annie Murphy, Sharon Stone, and Ken Jeong to improv their way towards solving the case — which they may or may not do correctly. If that sounds complicated to you, showrunner Krister Johnson (Medical Police) would agree. “I certainly had never figured this out...

All Time Low File Libel Suit to Identify Anonymous Sexual Abuse Accusers

All Time Low have filed a libel lawsuit in an effort to combat the anonymous allegations of sexual misconduct made against guitarist Jack Barakat last year. According to the nine-page filing obtained by Rolling Stone, the pop punk quartet is seeking to learn the identities of the people behind three anonymous social media accounts that initially came forward in October with the accusations, which the bandmates have already labeled “absolutely and unequivocally false.” However, the posts quickly went viral on social media, with the first Jane Doe in the complaint coming forward in a now-deleted TikTok to infer that the band had invited her onto their tour bus when she was 13, offered her alcohol, and asked if they could keep her bra for their “nasty collection.” Advertisement Related Video ...

MORGAN LANDER On KITTIE’s Future Plans: ‘You’ll Be Seeing Us Around A Little More’

KITTIE vocalist/guitarist Morgan Lander has hinted more activity for the band following the previously announced reunion shows at Las Vegas’s When We Were Young festival. Joining Morgan and her sister, drummer Mercedes Lander, at those shows in the fall will be guitarist Tara McLeod and bassist Ivana “Ivy” Vujic. Asked in a new interview with the “Talk Toomey” podcast what led to Vujic returning to KITTIE for the upcoming dates, Lander said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Ivy played on two of our albums, the last two albums that we did. She left the band right before the very last big tour that we ended up doing; she did the Soundwave Festival [in Australia] with us in 2012, and those were the last shows that we did with her. And she just kind of ...

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Shares Another Snippet Of New Music: ‘The Monster Is Waking Up’

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has shared another snippet of music from the band’s upcoming ninth studio album. Earlier today, the Las Vegas-based metallers posted the 12-second clip on social media and captioned it: “The monster is waking up – 2022”. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH previously shared snippets of music from the LP earlier this month and as well as in November. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH‘s follow-up to 2020’s “F8” is once again being recorded at the Hideout Recording Studio, the Las Vegas, Nevada facility owned and operated by Kevin Churko, the Canadian record producer/engineer and songwriter who has worked on all of FIVE FINGER‘s albums beginning with the band’s sophomore release, 2009’s “War Is The Answer”. In addition ...

Requiem – KORN

RATING: 8/10 Initially, KORN were never likely to be accused of brevity. From their 65-minute debut to the hour-long sprawl of 2005’s “See You on the Other Side”, the first big stretch of the band’s discography was typified by often great but generally long-winded splurges of new material. Whether by nature or design, the last few KORN albums have represented a welcome sea change in the way they put their musical statements together. No one sensible is going to argue that “Korn” (1994, their first self-titled record), “Follow the Leader” and “Untouchables” are all highlights in a surprisingly consistent catalogue, but each of them would have benefited from some judicious editing. In recent times, KORN albums have been much snappie...

Erin Rae Breaks Down Her New Album Lighten Up Track by Track: Exclusive Stream

For our Track by Track feature, artists open up about the stories behind each song on their latest album. Today, Erin Rae takes us track by track through her new album, Lighten Up. After releasing her debut effort, Putting on Airs, in 2018, Erin Rae was living as the troubadours do. She spent the years between that release and the start of the pandemic on the road and, like any other artist, found that life come to a screeching halt. On Friday, February 4th, she’ll return with her new album, Lighten Up, an appropriate title both for our times and for the album. This latest collection is an amalgam of dreamy, psychedelic country, indie-rock, and believably vintage folk. Thematically, too, the album is a bit like an old kaleidoscope — social commentary and musings on gender equality mor...
