Ethereum eyes $3.5K as ETH price reclaims pandemic-era support with 40% rebound

Ethereum’s native token Ether (ETH) looks poised to hit $3,500 in the coming sessions as it reclaimed a historically strong support level on Feb. 5. Ethereum price back above key trendline ETH price rising above its 50-week exponential moving average (50-week EMA; the red wave in the chart below) means the price also inched above $3,000, a psychological support level that may serve as the ground for Ether’s next leg up. ETH/USD weekly price chart. Source: TradingView The 50-week EMA was instrumental in maintaining Ether’s bullish bias across 2020 and 2021. For instance, it served as a strong accumulation zone during the market correction in the second and third quarters last year, pushing ETH price from around $1,700 to as high as $4,951 (data from Binance). Bitcoin surges toward $39K as stocks volatility keeps Wall Street on edge

Bitcoin (BTC) kept investors guessing with tech stocks as Wall Street opened on Feb. 4, circling $38,000. BTC/USD 1-hour candle chart (Bitstamp). Source: TradingView Stocks continue volatility Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView followed a ranging overnight period for BTC/USD, bulls hoping for clearer validation of recent gains. After 15% daily gains the day before, Amazon (AMZN) continued its uptrend on Feb. 4, jumping 10% at the open, while embattled Meta (FB) dipped further. In what has become an increasing focus of attention among analysts, curiously volatile tech stocks thus showed few signs of steadying at the opening bell. Bitcoin, after losing $800 in the hour beforehand, thus recouped all of those losses and more, underscoring its positive stocks correlation. ...

Billionaire investor Bill Miller puts 50% of net worth in Bitcoin

Investor Bill Miller is bullish on Bitcoin (BTC) despite the cryptocurrency touching multi-month lows below $40,000 in early January 2022. Miller no longer considers himself just a “Bitcoin observer” but rather a real Bitcoin bull, as he said in a WealthTrack interview last Friday. The billionaire investor now holds 50% of his net worth in Bitcoin and related investments in major industry firms like Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy and BTC mining firm Stronghold Digital Mining. An early Amazon investor, Miller owns almost 100% of the rest of his portfolio in Amazon, he noted. Miller bought his first Bitcoin back in 2014 when BTC was trading around $200 and then purchased a “little bit more overtime” when it became $500. The investor did not buy it for years until BTC plummeted to $30,000 aft...

Over 200 Artists Sign Open Letter Condemning Amazon’s Ticketless Palm-Reading Tech

Amazon’s new biometric scanners, the company’s proposed solution for contactless entry into concerts, is being met with significant pushback from prominent musicians. A collective of over 200 artists have penned an open letter to Red Rocks Amphitheater, AXS, and AEG Worldwide requesting they cease to support the Amazon One palm-scanning technology, Rolling Stone reports. The technology eliminates the need for a ticket and theoretically expedites the entry process for major events, including concerts.  The group of artists, collectively responding under the name Amazon Doesn’t Rock, includes Tom Morello, Gramatik, Tommie Sunshine, and many more. Red Rocks recently implemented the Amazon One technology, which some say could be used to abuse personal data and compromise...

Tap Dancin’ Terry Crews Skins & Grins In New Amazon Commercial, Twitter Gets Buff Bozo Out The Paint

HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Santiago Felipe / Getty Terry Crews at one time was considered one of the most beloved comedic actors in Hollywood before he put on his tap shoes and leaned into some thoughts and opinions nobody asked him for. In a new spot for Amazon, Crews pleads with folks to come work for the company but Twitter is getting the buff bozo out the paint. Via Amazon’s TikTok page, Crews essentially pretends that someone of his means actually cares about working at one of the company’s massive warehouses. Using all his teeth to express faux joy, Crews pitches the idea that Amazon has tons of jobs available, offers paid tuition, and health benefits. You know, stuff a decent company should do for employees that have reportedly worked in subpar conditions. It’s hard to...

Amazon’s Rival Clubhouse App Will Let You DJ Your Own Radio Show

After a major Axios report from earlier this summer detailing Amazon’s interest in live audio, more information has been revealed about their rumored app, Project Mic.  According to The Verge, the new app will function similarly to Clubhouse. Users will be able to establish their profile and broadcast information about a subject of their choice or simply host a live DJ radio show. Other users will be able to find individual shows through a search bar divided into sections like pop culture, music, sports, and more. The user-generated radio shows will then be accessible through various other Amazon-owned applications, such as Twitch, Audible, Amazon Music, and Alexa-compatible devices.
