But yesterday (July 21) things got taken up a notch when more than a dozen people were injured in a shooting outside of a funeral home on Chi-Town’s South Side. According to Associated Press the violence erupted around 6:30pm outside a funeral home in the Gresham neighborhood in the South side of Chicago when a black car sped down the street and a gunman opened fired on the attendees without warning. An Oral History of The Freshman: Matthew Broderick, Andrew Bergman, and Michael Lobell Revisit the 1990 Comedy

On July 20th, 1990, The Freshman hit theaters with all the right pieces. It had solid pitch, one of Hollywood’s sharpest scribes in writer/director Andrew Bergman, and ’80s icon and heartthrob Matthew Broderick. To top it all off, the mob comedy managed to even wrangle the Don himself Marlon Brando, who had all but retired by that point. It wasn’t a summer blockbuster, but it was a success for TriStar. Critics loved it, audiences enjoyed it, and the box office returns managed to nearly double the budget. In the years since, however, it has garnered a cult following, and many view it as one of the last great works of Brando’s legendary (and oft-puzzling) career. To commemorate the film’s 30th anniversary, we recently spoke with writer/director Andrew Bergman, producer Michael Lobell, and st...

Born Bashar Jackson, he was staying in a Hollywood Hills home where he was the victim of a home invasion. In security footage of the incident, four men are described as creeping up on the Hollywood Hills crib of the “Dior” rapper around 4:30 in the morning. The four reportedly snuck into the back and after a couple of minutes, only three of them walked back up to the front of the home by the side, while the fourth seems to have walked in the backdoor (but there was no camera in that area). That f...

Archbishop Kaigama: Rapists should face full wrath of law

YouTube Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, the Archbishop of Abuja Catholic Archdiocese, has said perpetrators of rape should face the full wrath of the law to serve as deterrent to others. Kaigama, who made the call in his homily on Sunday in Abuja at Charles Lwanga Parish, Apo, also urged Nigerians to pray for the victims of sexual crimes. He said while we call for prayers for victims of sexual crimes, we hope that the perpetrators of the crime would face the full wrath of the law. “We hope they will be reformed and through our prayers, they will be delivered from the bad spirit that leads them to commit such horrible sexual crime.’’ Kaigama said the increased cases of rape was frightening as a tender three months old baby was said to have been raped in May. Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty It’s just allll coming to light now. A few days after NYPD were caught being told to run over and “shoot” protestors in the streets, another audio has surfaced confirming what we’ve already known to be the case for decades: police be framing people.
