Popular Bollywood singer and composer Bappi Lahiri, who won millions of fans with his penchant for feet-tapping disco music in the 1980s and 1990s, has died in a Mumbai hospital, according to a hospital statement. He was 69. Lahiri was suffering from obstructive sleep apnea and a recurrent chest infection, the statement by Criticare hospital said. Lahiri died on Tuesday night. Organizers of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach Festival have announced that it will be dropping COVID-19 restrictions for its 2022 dates. Coachella’s updated Health and Safety website page stated that no vaccination, testing or masks will be required “in accordance with local guidelines.” It continued, however, that this rule could be reverted depending on “federal, state or local government agencies or instrumentalities, artists or the promoter,” and that the organizers have the right to change aspects of the festival including but not limited to “capacity, attendance procedures and entry requirements, such as proof of vaccination and/or negative COVID-19 test, and other protective measures such as requiring attendees to wear face coverings.” A COVID-19 warning ...

This year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts and Stagecoach festivals will no longer require attendees to wear masks or provide negative COVID-19 test results, Rolling Stone and Variety point out. Stagecoach announced the news via social media earlier today. Coachella did not make an announcement via social media, but the health and safety guidelines on the festival website has been updated to communicate the new guidelines. “In accordance with local guidelines, there will be no vaccination, testing or masking requirements at Coachella 2022,” it reads.
