Redveil has shared a new video for “PG Baby.” The song is on the Maryland rapper’s latest album Learn 2 Swim, which dropped last week. Check out the Andrpw-directed video below. Learn 2 Swim was released on Redveil’s 18th birthday. Over the years, the teenager has made noise with a string of albums which lay his thoughtful lyrics over lush production. Weeks before his album was put out, he built anticipation for it with a trailer that featured words of motivation from his rap influences turned peers, like Mavi, Saba, and Denzel Curry. Iceage have announced a fall co-headlining tour of the U.S. with Earth in support of their 2021 album Seek Shelter. The shows are set to begin in Brooklyn on September 21 and will wrap in Seattle on October 15. See the band’s full schedule—including a performance at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago in July—below. Iceage have also released a new song today titled “All the Junk on the Outskirts.” It was originally tracked during their Beyondless sessions, but the band didn’t finish recording it until this year. “I consider this one of the better cuts off the Beyondless sessions, but it ended up being a misfit that wouldn’t quite fit in with the other songs as we put together the tracklisting,” said singer Elias Bender Rønnenfelt. “Much like it wasn’t welcome with the others on Beyon...
Wilco have announced a new album. It’s titled Cruel Country and it’s due out May 27 via dBpm. They’re sharing the lead single “Falling Apart (Right Now)” today, which you can listen to below. Cruel Country is almost entirely composed of live takes recorded at the Loft in Chicago—a method not employed by Wilco since recording Sky Blue Sky—and follows a loose conceptual narrative of the history of the United States. As the title implies, the album finds Wilco embracing the genre of country music. “We’ve never been particularly comfortable with accepting that definition, the idea that I was making country music. But now, having been around the block a few times, we’re finding it exhilarating to free ourselves within the form, and embrace the simple limitation of calling the music we’re making...
Of their new label home, the sisters added: Michael Goldstone signed us to Sire/Warner in 2006. We had just made The Con and felt like the vision Goldie and the team at Sire had for us and the album were a good fit. But soon after he signed us, he left to start Mom + Pop. We never held it against him. But joked that one day we’d work together for real. So it was with great enthusiasm that we agreed to sign to Mom + Pop when our deal with Warner ended in 2021. We look forward to being back at an indie label, on a brilliant roster, with Goldie and the label’s incredible team helping us start this next chapter in our lives with the release of our 10th album. The DJs spun whatever go...
