Forbes has officially released its annual World’s Billionaires list, mentioning a total of 236 people, down from its record of 493 in 2021 who joined the club. Pop icon and entrepreneur Rihanna made her debut on the list with a net worth of $1.7 billion USD. Her earnings have largely seen an increase due to her stake in the Fenty Beauty line as well as her lingerie business, Savage x Fenty. She is Barbados’ first billionaire and currently still holds the title as the richest female musician in the world. South Korea Is Building an Arena Dedicated to K-Pop in Seoul

Earlier this week, South Korean internet company Kakao and the Seoul Metropolitan Government put forward plans to construct an entirely new arena dedicated to K-Pop. Dubbed the Seoul Arena, the stadium is scheduled to be built in the Chang-dong, Dobong-gu area and is expected to be complete by October 2025. The breaking-ground ceremony will be hosted in June after the final implementation plans are approved. The arena will host approximately 18,000 seats, with a capacity of 28,000 people for standing performances. A medium-sized performance venue that seats 7,000, as well as a movie theater and other commercial facilities, are to be included in the final blueprint. The Weeknd is officially only the sixth solo artist with three diamond singles as “Blinding Lights” and “Starboy” were certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The diamond certification confirms that both singles have sold at least 10 million units in the US; as stated on the RIAA website, “Starboy” has officially sold 11 million units in the US as of April 5, achieving this feat in a span of six years. Karen Dalton Recordings and Photos Unearthed for New Album Shuckin’ Sugar

A collection of unreleased Karen Dalton recordings are being released in the new album Shuckin’ Sugar. It’s out April 23 on vinyl for Record Store Day, while a CD and digital release will follow o May 6 via Delmore Recording Society. The album features live recordings from 1963 and 1964, featuring seven solo performances and five duets with her then-husband Richard Tucker. The album’s booklets include unseen and rare photos, plus an essay from journalist and author Kris Needs. The vinyl pressing for Record Store Day is limited to 3,500 copies on “transparent, natural vinyl” pressed at Third Man. Arsonist Sets Fire to Brooklyn Nightclub Rash

A nightclub in Bushwick, Brooklyn, was targeted by an arsonist Sunday night (April 3). A man wearing a black hoodie and a backpack covered the floor at Rash—a new venue that opened just five months ago—in a clear liquid and set it on fire, injuring two and causing significant damage to the building.  Rash co-owner Claire Bendiner told CBS News, “He said that he was just dumping out water, that he was a cleaner or something like that, and then security questioned him a little more, and then apparently he escalated it, obviously, by lighting the place.” An event scheduled for that night had yet to begin, resulting in a relatively small crowd that quickly fled the venue; one bystander told Brooklyn Patch they were covered in ash and soot as smoke billowed from the club.
