A documentary about the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard is making its way to A&E Network. Helmed by Sam and Jason Pollard, the feature docu gives fans a “definitive” look at the Wu-Tang Clan icon and “humanizes ODB as a man, a father, and a husband like never before… providing an intimate picture of ODB’s life and reflecting on his lasting impact on music and culture,” and will provide “a never-before-seen personal archive shot by his wife, Icelene Jones, and access to his closest friends and family.” The special, which currently has the working title Biography: Ol’ Dirty Bastard, is being produced by the Ol’ Dirty Bastard estate and will focus on ODB’s solo career, ranging from his debut album in 1995 until his untimely death in 2004. Taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana, the BUKU Music + Art Project returned for its tenth anniversary this past weekend and its first show since 2019. Located along the banks of the Mississippi River near the abandoned Market Street Power Plant, the two-day festival celebrated the spirit and community of the Southern city. Alongside art installations and interactive activities, BUKU featured five different stages, including the Skyline, Bridge, Wharf, Ballroom and Riverside. Foo Fighters have canceled their performance at the 2022 Grammy Awards following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, Rolling Stone reports. Hawkins died last week in Bogotá, Colombia ahead of the band’s scheduled performance at Festival Estéreo Picnic. He was 50 years old. Foo Fighters were announced as Grammy performers days before Hawkins’ death. Dead & Company have announced a 2022 summer tour. The jam band—featuring members of the Grateful Dead and John Mayer—will kick things off on June 11 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. A new documentary about North Carolina’s Little Brother—the trio of rappers Big Pooh and Phonte and DJ/producer 9th Wonder—is scheduled to arrive next year. May The Lord Watch: The Little Brother Story was directed by Holland Randolph Gallagher. It features live footage, archival clips of Drake and Doja Cat, and interviews with Little Brother members, Questlove, and others. A release date for the film has not yet been announced, but you can check out the trailer below. Little Brother disbanded in 2010 shortly after releasing their album LeftBack that same year.
