Shelley Duvall died on Thursday at her home in Blanco, Texas, her family and longtime partner Dan Gilroy reported. Her family said the cause of death was complications due to diabetes. The news arrives after the parent company of Redbox, Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, moves to liquidate all of its assets.The company had originally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy but turned that into a Chapter 7 liquidation case. Upwards of 1,000 employees working at Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment have been laid off without severance pay.Redbox’s business had already been declining for years as streaming has become the default to watch movies. The deal follows months of negotiations between Skydance and Paramount chairwoman Shari Redstone, whose family owns 77% of Paramount's voting shares through their holding company National Amusements.The production company Skydance was founded by David Ellison, the son of billionaire Oracle founder Larry Ellison, in 2006. Since 2009, the company has been co-producing and co-financing movies for Paramount.
