Rick and Morty co-creator and voice actor Justin Roiland is facing felony domestic violence and false imprisonment charges. According to NBC News, the 42-year-old has been charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit, and is connected to an incident that took place in January 2020 with an anonymous Jane Doe who was in a relationship with Roiland at the time. Roiland pleaded not guilty to the charges in October 2020 after being charged in May 2020 and arrested and released on bond in August of that same year. Netflix has officially acquired the rights to the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards and will livestream the 2023 and 2024 ceremonies. Oprah Winfrey is slated to star in Tyler Perry’s forthcoming Netflix film, Six Triple Eight, alongside Kerry Washington and Sam Waterson. Washington is on board to executive produce the movie, which recounts the largely untold story of the only all-Back, all-female World War II battalion that was tasked with organizing and delivering three years’ worth of unsent mail. Lucky Hank, AMC’s forthcoming series starring Bob Odenkirk, is scheduled to premiere on the network on March 19, just over seven months following the season-finale premiere of the actor’s Better Call Saul. On Tuesday, the production company revealed the first teaser for the series, placing Odenkirk’s “difficult” character at the center of the drama.
