At last night’s Golden Globes celebration, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Letitia Wright caught up with Variety on the red carpet. In conversation with the publication’s correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister, Wright revealed an update on the third installment of the Black Panther franchise. When asked if Black Panther 3 would be “greenlit,” Wright responded, “I think it’s already in the works.” She added, “You know, we just had a terrific two years of bringing it out and everybody coming together to support it. Franchise staple Adam Devine broke the news on Instagram and detailed the reasons as to why the streamer canned the spinoff movie just weeks before they were due to start filming. “Welp, Paramount + decided to cancel the Workaholics movie. A24 has shared the full official trailer for Ari Aster‘s BEAU IS AFRAID starring Joaquin Phoenix. The surrealist comedy horror film will see Phoenix as “a paranoid man [who] embarks on an epic odyssey to get home to his mother,” with the adrenaline-fueled trailer visualizing the actor go through different realms of his “fears” and face the supernatural on his journey after an accident. Joining Phoenix in the cast are Nathan Lane, Amy Ryan, Stephen Mckinley Henderson, Hayler Squires, Denis Ménochet, Kylie Rogers, Armen Nahapetian, with Parker Posey and Patti LuPone, while Aster returns as the director, writer. According to reports, Amazon Prime Video is already developing Season 2 of The Boys spin-off, Gen V. The news is particularly interesting as Season 1 of the show has yet to receive a premiere date. The reports go on to note that the executives at the streaming platform are extremely happy with Season 1 of the anticipated superhero college spinoff series and a writing room is set to start in the coming weeks. With Netflix wrapping up the popular sci-fi series, Stranger Things, the cast is sure to receive a well-deserved pay day for being one of the most popular shows on the streamer. The show, created by the Duffer Brothers, previously announced that the fifth and final season will arrive in 2025 and that filming will likely proceed in early 2023. HBO has announced an official companion podcast to its highly-anticipated series, The Last of Us. Premiering in tandem with the show, The Last of Us Podcast will see host Troy Baker — the voice and motion capture actor of Joel in the video games — sit down with series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, the latter of whom also wrote and directed the games.
