In recent details highlighted by The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix and HBO were initially in the running for producing a Lord of the Rings TV series. Both streamers were pitching the Tolkein estate before Amazon landed the rights to develop the series which is now titled, Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. According to the report, HBO’s pitched was “essentially remaking” Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy but as a series. The estate, however, was not interested in retreading Middle-Earth in the Third Age. Back in early 2021, HBO Max ordered Velma to straight-to-series as the new adult-oriented Scooby-Doo spin-off series. The series unveiled its first official poster for Velma, a Mindy Kaling-led adult animated series. The series promises to be more gruesome as foreshadowed by the series poster which sees Velma’s signature glasses splattered with blook on the floor. After the success of the original Money Heist, which catapulted the series into a Korean spin-off, Netflix continues to expand the franchise. The streamer reveals a first-look trailer at what to expect for the prequel series Berlin, which is set to follow the character Andrés de Fonollosa. The original series focused on The Professor and his team of eight as they try to pull off the greatest robbery in the history of Spain. It looks as if the growing anticipation for the upcoming DC Comics film Black Adam with Warner Bros. Discovery is slated for an impressive opening weekend. The Dwayne Johnson-starring film’s opening weekend is projected to be on par with the first Venom film and is also set to be the actor’s biggest box office opening ever. Netflix has officially debuted the trailer for Unsolved Mysteries: Volume 3. The upcoming season will premiere across a special three-week event, with three different episodes premiering on October 18, October 25 and November 1. Jonás Cuarón — the son of Roma director Alfonso Cuarón — is set to direct Marvel and Sony Pictures’ El Muerto, which will star Bad Bunny as the titular antihero. According to reports, El Muerto is still in early development but will have Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer penning the script. Studio Pierrot and manga artist Masashi Kishimoto have crafted a special recap video celebrating the 20th anniversary of the popular Naruto series. The 10-minute video titled “Road of Naruto” features new illustrations and re-animated scenes revisiting the most iconic scenes from the 722-episode series. The trailer begins with the first fight between Naruto and Sasuke and ends with the final battle between the best friends.
