In a recent Game of Thrones convention in L.A., titular actor Kit Harington teased fans what they can expect from Jon Snow in the upcoming spinoff. The spinoff was originally announced in June this year and was confirmed by George R.R. Martin when he revealed that it was Harington’s idea for the sequel series. While Harington was unable to reveal details of the development of the show, he id talk about Jon Snow’s character development after the events of Game of Thrones and what could happen to him after his character killed Daenerys. Following early word of a live-action adaptation, Netflix has now officially announced that it is developing a film centered around My Hero Academia. In an announcement post, the streaming platform shared that it is partnering up with Legendary Entertainment on the project. The live-action adaptation of the manga/anime will be directed and executive produced by Shinsuke Sato (Alice in Borderland) and written by Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s Joby Harold. The villain for the next two Spider-Verse films have been confirmed by director Kemp Powers. In a recent interview with Total Film, Powers confirmed that Miles Morales and company will be facing the Spot, who is brought to life by Jason Schwartzman. “The Spot is an interesting villain because he seems like a joke, but when you really look at his powers, there’s incredible potential. The success of the Spy x Family anime has given rise to a stage play adaptation in Japan. Set to debut in Tokyo on March 8, 2023, the teaser has just been released showing the key characters in costume — Loid, Yor, and Yuri have been cast while Anya is still in the works. While some live-play anime adaptations have been a miss, this one looks promising. Those in Japan can expect the show to start from March 8 – 29 in Tokyo, move to Hyogo Prefecture in April and end in Fukuoka in May. Check out the dedicated website for more info. Westworld and The Nevers, two recently-cancelled HBO series, will no longer be available to watch on HBO Max. According to reports, the removal of the shows from streaming stems from Warner Bros. Discovery’s ongoing cost-cutting measures in an attempt to secure $3.5 billion USD. This will allow the company to save money from both the cancellations and in residuals paid to the cast and crews of the shows. The announcement arrives just as it was confirmed that two more shows — Minx and Love Life — will also be removed from the streamer. Todd Phillips has shared a first look at Joaquin Phoenix for the upcoming Joker sequel, Folie à Deux. The filmmaker took to Instagram to announce that they have officially began production on the highly-anticipated movie, and also uploaded a photo of the actor in-character as Arthur Fleck, getting a shave by what seems to be someone of authority. “Day 1. Our boy. #joker,” Phillips wrote as the caption. Folie à Deux will be a musical and will follow Fleck’s time at Arkham Asylum. The television network, which has hosted the awards show since 1966, scrapped its 2022 edition due to an entertainment industry boycott that unraveled following a February 2021 Los Angeles Times article that revealed The Hollywood Foreign Press Association included no Black members and had participated in unethical practices.
