Sony Pictures is delaying many of its major titles releasing in the coming two years, including the highly-anticipated Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter. According to reports, Madame Web is being postponed by four months and will be premiering on February 16, 2024 instead of its original October 6, 2023 date, while Kraven the Hunter will experience an even longer delay of 10 months, premiering on October 6, 2023 instead of January 13, 2023. A reason for the postponements were not revealed by the studio, but arrives alongside announcements of several new Sony Pictures films. Sony has announced that it is postponing the release of the upcoming Garfield movie, which stars Chris Pratt as the orange lasagna-loving feline. According to reports, the reboot will now hit theaters during the Memorial Day Weekend of May 24, 2024 rather than February 16. Sony did not reveal the reason why and neither Pratt nor the rest of the cast —  Samuel L. Jackson as Garfield father’s Vic, Hannah Waddingham, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong and Ving Rhames — shared statements. Game developers miHoYo and animation studio Ufotable are teaming up for a Genshin Impact anime. The two companies recently unveiled the news with a concept trailer teasing the art style of the adaptation, which is very similar to the original game that actually takes inspiration from anime. A release date was not unveiled but the concept trailer hinted at the collaboration being a “long-term project,” hopefully meaning that the anime will be released in several seasons. According to reports, Warner Bros. Pictures is now developing a sequel to Constantine. The news comes 17 years after the release of the original live-action adaptation of the DC Comics character and has John Constantine fans excited after months of rumors. Constantine 2 is expected to be a direct sequel to the 2005 supernatural thriller and will see a reunion of star Keanu Reeves and director Francis Lawrence. Akiva Goldsman will be responsible for the screenplay and will be producing the project through his Weed Road Pictures imprint, alongside Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella. Netflix on Friday dropped off the official trailer for Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s forthcoming true crime series, Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, starring American Horry Story actor Evan Peters. Peters will depict the namesake serial killer, who horrifically took the lives of seventeen innocent people between 1978 and 1991. The new three-part series follows the events of the stock market upset that occurred during the pandemic when a group of internet-savvy investors banned together on Reddit to essentially, take down the rich. Variety has officially confirmed that Amazon has green lit a sequel series for Blade Runner. The live-action limited series will be titled Blade Runner 2099 and is set to have begun development in February. Ridley Scott, who has signed on to executive produce the series, initially revealed that the show was in the works in November 2021. Minimal plot details have been shared, however, the title suggests that the events of the series will occur 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the 2017 sequel to the original Blade Runner.
