‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’ Anime Receives a New Trailer

Coinciding with a special advanced screening for the first two episodes of the upcoming series in Tokyo, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War received a new trailer. The latest promotional video announced more cast members, theme songs, release timeline, and premiere date. As reported, Tatsuya Kitani’s “Scar” will serve as the opening theme and SennaRin’s “Saihate” will be used as the ending theme of the series. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will air in four segments with breaks in between, corresponding to the four seasons. HBO Max Renews Issa Rae’s ‘RAP SH!T’ for Second Season

HBO Max has officially renewed Issa Rae‘s RAP SH!T for a second season. The series stars Aida Osman, KaMillion, Jonica Booth, Devon Terrell and RJ Cyler, with the first season following the story of estranged high school friends Shawna (Osman) and Mia (KaMillion) attempting to launch their rap group. “We’re so happy to play in the world of ‘Rap Sh!t’ for another season with this incredibly talented team,” Rae shared in a statement, with showrunner Syreeta Singleton adding, “This show and cast are one of a kind and I’m thrilled to get to do this again with them. Don Cheadle Confirms He Is No Longer Under Marvel Contract

Don Cheadle joined the MCU back in 2010 when he replaced Terrence Howard as Colonel James Rhodes in Iron Man 2. Since then, he has reprised his character, better known as “War Machine,” across seven different films and one TV show within the Marvel realm. In a recent interview with Variety at the D23 Expo this weekend, Cheadle spoke of his future with the MCU and his contractual obligations with the studio. ‘Lupin’ Actor Omar Sy to Star in Netflix’s Live-Action ‘Yasuke’ Series

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Omar Sy, best known for his role as gentleman thief Assane Diop in Lupin, is in talks to play Yasuke in a live-action series from Netflix. Yasuke is a real historical figure, known as the world’s first non-Japanese Samurai. Traveling from Africa to Japan in 1579, Yasuke served under the prominent feudal lord Oda Nobunaga and quickly rose through the ranks to become a samurai within a year. At around 6 foot 2, he was a towering figure when men at that time were historically shorter in stature. While the Yasuke anime incorporated fantasy elements from folklore, the new upcoming series will be a dramatization of Yasuke’s story, focusing on his progression and friendship with Nobunaga. Marvel’s ‘Werewolf by Night’ Halloween Special Receives Spooky, Black-and-White Trailer

During Disney‘s D23 Expo on Saturday, Marvel Studios unveiled the trailer for its first television special: a black-and-white Halloweek horror flick, dubbed Werewolf by Night. Starring Gael Garcia Bernal, the scary movie takes cues from 1903s- and ’40s cinematic styles, telling the story of Jack Russell, a man who belongs to a family of lycanthropes and carries a curse that ultimately turns him into a werewolf. As the story progresses, Russell manages to control his vicious persona and becomes a hero, utilizing his powers to conquer evil. Star Wars: Andor, the prequel series to the 2016 Rogue One film which follows a band of rebels who devise a scheme to steal plans for the Death Star, has released its final trailer. The series is led by Diego Luna‘s Cassian Andor, who embarks on a path that turns him from a thief into a hero for the Rebel Alliance. Disney+ has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians,  a TV adaptation of Rick Riordan’s classic novel series. The story follows the 12-year-old demigod Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, who’s accused by Zeus of stealing his lightning bolt. Walt Disney Studios has officially released the first trailer for filmmaker Rob Marshall’s live-action reimagination of The Little Mermaid. Paramount Pictures has offered a first look at Babylon, one of its biggest movies this year from La La Land and Whiplash director Damien Chazelle. Babylon is described as an original epic set in the 1920s leading up to Hollywood’s Golden Age.
