Warner Bros. Will Not be Releasing ‘Batgirl’

Warner Bros. has officially canned the release of Batgirl. Said to have underperformed in a test screening, the film, estimated to have cost between $70 – $90 million USD, will no longer be making a theatrical release nor be available on HBO MAX streaming services. Staring Leslie Grace, alongside J.K. Simmons, Michael Keaton, and Brendan Fraser, the film ran into delays due to the pandemic and the studio is looking to limit the damage to the franchise, and to make sure the future of DC Films starts off with stronger momentum. Chris Rock‘s Everybody Still Hates Chris, an animated version of his 2000s show Everybody Hates Chris, has been ordered by MTV Entertainment. According to reports, the upcoming show will be similar to Everybody Hates Chris as it takes inspiration from the comedian’s teenage years. Rock will serve as executive producer and returns as the narrator, while Sanjay Shah will serve as showrunner and wrote the pilot script for the series. Ali LeRoi joins Rock and Shah as executive producers alongside Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky and Grant Gish.
