First ‘Avatar’ Film Announced to Center Around Aang and Friends

Just last month, Nickelodeon confirmed that the it planned to continue to grow the beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender universe with three feature films. Since the news, fans have speculated what the first project might be. Jane Varney, who was the original voice actor of Korra recently announced at the San Deigo Comic-Con 2022 that Avatar Studios has planned to release its first animated film in theaters in 2024. The storyline is set to follow the adventures of Aang and his friends as young adults. Less than a year out from the release of John Wick 4, Lionsgate has released a new trailer to remind fans that Baba Yaga is ready for war. In the all-new sneak peek for the fourth installment of John Wick, new footage showcases Wick enacting revenge with just about any weapon he can find. Seemingly ready to add to his body count, the trailer, which dropped at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, features a thrilling fight scene between Keanu Reeves and Donnie Yen. Jordan Peele‘s epic thriller picture Nope just released this weekend and its domestic box office opening is already slated to net $44.5 million USD. This would be Peele’s third consecutive film to debut at the top of the box office if predictions are correct. Early projections propelled by the early Thursday previews brought in $6.4 million USD, indicating that the film is on track to becoming a summer box office hit. Nope is expected to just surpass Peele’s 2017 Get Out, which opened with $33.7 million USD. In 2019, Us opened with $71.1 million USD. Exactly a year from the release of Christopher Nolan‘s highly-anticipated Oppenheimer film, Universal Pictures has released the first official movie poster for the Cillian Murphy-led biopic. FX on Friday dropped off a new teaser for the fourth and final season of Atlanta, its popular comedy-drama series helmed by Donald Glover. A two-night event will be held on August 9-10 at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, to celebrate South Park‘s 25th anniversary. Starring co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with groups Primus, and Ween, the concert is lined up with performances of iconic songs from the series.
