During the recent Virtua Fighter eSports Challenge Cup, Sega announced an upcoming crossover between Virtua Fighter 5 and Tekken 7. The teaser trailer shown shows Akira taking on Lau, but the iconic characters are dressed to resemble equally iconic characters Kazuya and Heihachi. The clip shows the two engaging in a two-round fight complete with Tekken-style health bars. The teaser ends with Akira/Kazuya defeating Lau/Heihachi, followed by a screen for Virtua Fighter 5 noting the upcoming release of the skin crossover. The trading card sold for $420,000 USD making it the highest price ever paid for a base Pokémon Charizard card. The sale also sets an all-time record for the card, making the third-highest price paid in a public marketplace for any Pokémon trading card. CD Projekt Red is developing the next installment in The Witcher video game series. The new game will kick off a “new saga for the franchise,” according to the announcement. Based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski, the first game in the main Witcher series was released back in 2007. It became a trilogy, followed by 2011’s The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and concluding with 2015’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While the series has three spin-off games, this forthcoming game will mark the first standalone release since the trilogy ended. With Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 officially underway, Epic Games revealed that it is removing one of its most famous gameplay features: building. In a new blog post, Epic Games confirmed that the building aspect will temporarily be replaced with an Overshield in addition to a player’s Shield and Health. “Building has been wiped out,” the developers wrote. “To help maintain cover, you now have an Overshield on top of your Shield and Health. Epic Games has committed to donating all of its Fortnite proceeds for two weeks to humanitarian relief for individuals affected by the war in Ukraine. The donation will be split between the organizations Direct Relief, UN Children’s Fund, UN World Food Programme and the UN Refugee Agency. Between March 20 and April 3, proceeds from all Fortnite purchases will be distributed, including V-Buck packs, Fortnite Crew, gifted Battle Passes and cosmetic packs. Epic will also count retail store purchases of in-game cosmetics and V-Bucks cards.
