The Pokémon Company International has now entered an agreement to purchase trading card manufacturer Millennium Print Group. For now, no pricing details were provided for the acquisition, which will see the two companies join forces following a business partnership that started back in 2015. The companies’ announcement highlights that Millennium Print Group will continue to operate as a separate, autonomous organization but with the aid of both investment and industry expertise from The Pokémon Company International, which oversees the Pokémon brand globally outside of Asia. Sega has officially confirmed the release of its multi-game collection Sonic Origins. The collection is set to feature digital remasters of some of Sonic’s most iconic games including the original Sonic The Hedgehog and its sequel, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD. Sonic Origins will also feature two different play modes, Classic and Anniversary. In Classic Mode players will be able to experience the original game presentation, playing with the traditional finite live and game over style. However, the Anniversary Mode is an updated version that gives players an infinite number of lives and no game-overs. Blizzard has revealed a new World of Warcraft expansion in a developer livestream on Tuesday. Arriving nearly two decades after the game’s debut, the Dragonflight expansion will allow players to explore the Dragon Isles through a new dragon race called the Dracthyr. World of Warcraft: Dragonflight will split the Dragon Isles into five zones. In the Dracthyr, players can opt to join the Alliance or Horde. The open-world RPG, which is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch on July 29, is set after the events of the previous games of the series and centers on the war between the nations Keves and Agnus. Taking place in the world of Aionios, the game follows the journey of six characters, two of whom are off-seers, soldiers tasked with playing special flutes to mourn the passing of the dead. Assassin’s Creed Origins is making its way to Xbox Game Pass, the company announced in a blog post. Working with Ubisoft, Xbox has promised a slew of new additions to the Game Pass library. As the first in the Assassin’s Creed franchise to join Game Pass, the Egypt-set Assassin’s Creed Origins is the tenth installment in the gaming series. The title debuted in 2017, following 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Crypto-focused venture firm Framework Ventures has raised $400 million in new funding to invest in early-stage companies across the Web3, blockchain gaming and decentralized finance (DeFi) industries. The completed raise will go towards “FVIII,” an oversubscribed fund worth $400 million, the company announced Tuesday.
