Over the two and a half decades since the Pokémon franchise originally launched, there’s been a myriad of different games created around the beloved creatures, from the traditional turn-based strategy game or pinball to Niantic‘s popular augmented reality mobile title or even a photo-snapping experience, but one genre that hasn’t been done is the first-person shooter – until now. The new build comes from Reddit user Dragon_GameDev, who spent a month creating an FPS game using the Unreal Engine where you’re able to shoot and combat various Pokémon instead of catching them. Nintendo has finally confirmed the release date for the Kingdom Hearts trilogy on the Switch. Tilted Towers, Fortnite‘s famed location that first appeared in the second season of the game, has officially returned. The Epic Games title has brought back the high-rising cityscape in an updated format that includes slight cosmetic changes, though the location still includes the legendary clock tower, restaurants and other nostalgic components. Microsoft has announced the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, taking control of the company in a $68.7 billion USD deal. According to the terms of the deal, Miicrosoft is paying $95 USD per share for Activision Blizzard best known as the company behind Call of Duty and Overwatch. As part of the OpenLara project — an open-source program revolving around Tomb Raider — modder and hacker XProger spent a whole year working on the port, which is the latest to join a series of other platforms you can run the classic 1996 title on including the original Xbox, the 3DO, an iPhone, and the Nintendo 3DS. Activision Blizzard has released more than 30 employees and disciplined more than 40 due to workplace misconduct allegations. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company has received approximately 700 reports from employees regarding workplace misconduct since July 2021. Activision spokeswoman Helaine Klasky confirmed that 37 staff members have “exited” the company, while 44 more received disciplinary actions after the company’s investigation.
