Nintendo has released the official announcement trailer for Mario Strikers: Battle League, set to arrive this summer on the Switch. The Mario Strikers soccer series was first introduced on GameCube back in 2005 and was last seen as Mario Strikers Charged in 2007 on Wii. In the upcoming Battle League game, players can choose their favorite characters from the Mario universe to compete in 5v5 matches featuring skill shots dubbed “Hyper Strikes,” special items, and tackles. Similar to Mario Kart, the gear chosen will affect in-game performance. Announcing the new date over on Twitter, the developer has revealed that the remastered version of the classic title will be launching on February 23 for both PC via Steam and mobile platforms on their respective app stores. The forthcoming PlayStation 5 update will include voice command controls. Rolling out to English-speaking users located in the United States and the United Kingdom first, the beta feature was initially available on the previous-generation console when it debuted in 2013. Users will be able to activate the feature by saying “Hey PlayStation.” From there, they can use their voice to launch games, apps and the system menu. Wordle has taken the Internet by storm over the recent weeks, but luckily for retro gaming purists, they can now join in on the fun thanks to hardware hacker Stacksmashing over on Twitter, who managed to port the game onto the classic Nintendo Game Boy. A result of three hours of tinkering after being stuck inside because of the rain, Stacksmashing managed to create a ROM of Wordle that can run on the vintage handheld device, although given its limited size and hardware capabilities, the hacker was unable to bring over the entire word list from the game. Instead, he used a bloom filter to check if an entered word is one of the 8,000 most commonly used English words. Aniplex and Sega have just released the official teaser for the upcoming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles game for the Nintendo Switch. While the earlier PS5 trailer heavily revealed scenes from the “Mugen Train” arc, this new teaser for The Hinokami Chronicles for the Switch dives into the “Entertainment District” arc with epic battles between the Demon Slayer Corps and upper-rank demons. The game is playable in both the adventure story mode and a versus mode.
