As we forge on through the muddy waters of the post-COVID live music scene, Gud Vibrations is here to bring, well, good vibrations. The trap and bass music tastemaker has announced an upcoming virtual fest called Virtual Vibes Music Festival. As Halloween approaches, fans can expect to hear some bone-rattling bass music at this stream. Considering the event’s status as the imprint’s inaugural virtual festival, label heads NGHTMRE and SLANDER are primed to perform massive original sets. Joining them are fellow bass music heavyweights SVDDEN DEATH, Wavedash, and Kraysh. For what it’s worth, SLANDER also recently announced their plans to develop their own “Melodic Bass Festival” after the COVID-19 pandemic—whenever that may be. Virtu...

Livestreams have become the norm for artists to perform for fans amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past few months, artists have kept fans engaged with regular programming, often filming against breathtaking backdrops or incorporating mind-bending visuals into streams. BeApp, dubbed the “Netflix of music festivals” by Forbes, aims to take the livestreaming experience to the next level. By digitizing elements of the live concert experience into a carefully designed mobile app, BeApp wants to bridge the gap between livestreams and live shows. BeApp The app offers multiple ways to view livestreams, like “backstage” and “influencer cam.” Another feature, “front row seats,” allow users to display their photo, Instagram profile, and name to all viewers in a stream. Additionally, users...

With no light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel, it seems that electronic music artists are closing their eyes and throwing a dart at a map when planning their next livestream. Enter Belgian techno maven Charlotte de Witte, who has announced a momentous stream from a remote Montenegro fortress built in 1860. In partnership with Exit Festival’s new InfinitX project, which places major musical artists in the most beautiful locations around the world, de Witte has announced a can’t-miss DJ set at the Mogren Fortress in Budva, Montenegro. The structure was built by the ruling Austro-Hungarians of 1860 to defend the western borders of Budva. The broadcast marks yet another one-of-a-kind performance from KNTXT label founder de Witte, who has streamed from...
As the ongoing coronavirus pandemic continues to prevent live shows from taking place, performers are constantly searching for new ways to improve livestream experiences for the fans. In March, UK dubstep artist Shiverz tweeted that if he received 3000 likes, 2000 comments, and 1000 retweets, he’d perform a 24-hour livestream. With all criteria met, Shiverz is ready to take the challenge head-on and give fans what they’ve asked for. To hit all the right notes for his marathon livestream, the DJ and producer has teamed up with SoundShield and Subtle Sound to acquire full stage production as well as a venue for the event. The Dub Rebellion has also hopped on to help host the stream, which will be held exclusively on YouTube and kick off on September 19th at 9AM PT...
After debuting his one-of-a-kind stargazing concert series to a limited number of fans, Diplo is broadcasting the experience for all to see in the name of philanthropy. The Grammy Award-winning music producer, who recently released a full-length ambient album, has announced a charity livestream to raise funds in support of firefighters battling the catastrophic California wildfires, which have left 24 people dead and over 4,200 structures destroyed. Diplo recently kicked off a run of ambient concerts with a mystical show in Pioneertown, California, in which Flume made a surprise appearance. The series is being produced in collaboration with the Smithsonian’s AirSpace podcast as well as longtime collaborators Secular Sabbath, who are spearheading not only the stage...
Jason Ross is taking his mix show “The Atlas” to the airwaves of Insomniac TV for a special livestream this coming week. Ross’ frequent collaborator Seven Lions will be making an appearance with him during the event. Seven Lions’ Ophelia Records imprint has become a home to Ross, who has released multiple singles and his debut album 1000 Faces on the label. The two have also made lightning strike twice with their hit collaborations “Ocean” in 2018 and their sweeping electro-trance hybrid single “Known You Before” a year later. It’s been a momentous year for Ross, whose 2020 debut album landed him on the shortlist of promising producers to watch. The multi-genre artist began making a spectacle of his music discovery process with the adve...
IDLES took over Abbey Road Studios for a three-part livestream this past weekend. Coming in support of their forthcoming full-length, Ultra Mono, the sets featured a bevy of new tracks — including singles “Model Village”, “A Hymn”, “Mr. Motivator”, and “Grounds” — in addition to past favorites like “Colossus”, “I’m Scum”, and “Never Fight a Man with a Perm”. The Bristol post punks also tucked in a few covers, including takes on The Beatles, The Strokes, and The Ramones. First came their dirge-y rendition of The Ramones’ classic “I Wanna Be Sedated”. Smoldering in its own sedation, the cover saw a psychedelic war wage between guitarist Mark Bown and bassist Adam Devonshire. Set No. 2 brought IDLES’ ripping version of The Strokes’ “Reptilia”. The band kept the melody largely intact, but scra...
