The War on Drugs Announce Livestream Event, Perform “I Don’t Live Here Anymore” on Kimmel: Watch

Even though post-pandemic live music has returned, livestream performances have taken the lead in the past two years — and The War on Drugs are continuing trend. Ahead of their massive world tour next year, the rock band have announced Living Proof: The War On Drugs Global Live Event, which will go down on Thursday, December 9th. NOLAxNOLA Announces Livestream Fundraiser with Tribute to Dr. John

New Orleans arts coalition NOLAxNOLA has announced NOLAxNOLA ‘21: Show Your Love! A Virtual Celebration of New Orleans. The livestream fundraiser takes place November 19th and 20th, and will use performances by Tank and the Bangas, Big Freedia, and a tribute to Dr. John to support local not-for-profits. The event is free to view, but the digital fundraising platform Fandiem is using the event to funnel money towards The Roots of Music, Trombone Shorty Foundation, Tip-It Foundation, Preservation Hall Foundation, New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic & Assistance Foundation, and Upbeat Academy Foundation. Puscifer Release Recent Livestream Concerts as Soundtrack Albums: Stream

Puscifer have released their recent “Live at Arcosanti” and “Money $hot” livestreams as standalone soundtrack albums. It’s the culmination of a strong album cycle for Puscifer, who followed their 2020 full-length album, Existential Reckoning, with a pair of cinematic livestream performances. Halestorm Announce “Happy Hale-i-Days” Concert Stream, Score Chart-Topping Hit with New Single

Halestorm have announced a special one-night-only streaming concert on December 23rd. The show, billed the “Happy Hale-i-Days” concert, was filmed in September at the Brown County Music Center in Nashville, Indiana. Tickets to the streaming show will go on sale to the general public this Friday (November 5th) via Mandolin.com, Halestorm have only released one song this year, “Back from the Dead,” in advance of a new album coming in 2022. The single just rocketed to the top spot on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, marking the band’s sixth No. 1 hit. UK Ticketing Platform DICE Acquires Boiler Room to Expand Streaming Operations

Boiler Room has a new home.  Just one week after announcing a $122 million capital raise, UK-based ticketing company DICE have announced their acquisition of Boiler Room for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 2014, DICE has gone on to support over 6,400 artists and distributed concert tickets in 147 different countries, according to Music Business Worldwide. According to DICE CEO Phil Hutcheon, he and Boiler Room CEO Blaise Bellville have had candid discussions for over a year, allowing a shared vision to emerge.  “I believe deeply that the best way for Boiler Room to evolve is by partnering with a company that values what we are today, and provides the tools we need to grow into the future – we play to our strengths and they to theirs,” Belville said in ...

DJs at Pirate Studios Attempting World Record for Biggest B2B DJ Set Ever

The world’s most impressive B2B DJ set set yet could come from north London this month. Pirate, a network of 24-hour music studios based in London, has teamed up with mental health-driven music community eott and charitable foundation Last Night A DJ Saved My Life to attempt to break the world record for most DJs to play back-to-back. Taking place at Pirate’s Tottenham studio in north London, the event will serve as a fundraiser, with all proceeds benefitting music mental health charity Key Changes. The goal is to raise £5,000 to fund weekly music activities for young mental health patients for a full year. Pearl Jam Celebrate Ten, No Code Anniversaries with Remixed Digital Albums

August 27th is an important day for Pearl Jam fanatics, and the date has particular significance this year. Today marks the 30th anniversary of the band’s iconic debut, Ten, as well as the 25th anniversary of their smash fourth LP, No Code. To celebrate, Pearl Jam is unveiling newly remixed digital exclusive editions of both records, plus they’re streaming their legendary 2014 “No Code Show” for free. The new digital mixes come courtesy of producer/sound engineer Josh Evans, who produced PJ’s most recent full-length, last year’s Gigaton. Mastodon to Livestream Acoustic Show from Georgia Aquarium

Mastodon are set to play their first-ever acoustic concert from the Georgia Aquarium, and will livestream the gig across the globe. The Atlanta metal band is teaming up with HD streaming platform Dreamstage for the July 15th event. The hometown concert will mark Mastodon’s first gig of 2021, before they play a handful of festival dates in the fall. The livestream show has been dubbed “Captured Live at Georgia Aquarium”, and a press release hints that it may be only time the band performs an acoustic set.
