At the time of my mothers passing I kept having these super visual dreams about time travel. Later on I decided I’d name the record Big Time, not only because of the song but also as a kind of wink to time expansion and change. When I approached Kimberly Stuckwisch about making these videos, I thought it would be cool to include the storyline of one of the dreams I’d had, and really use it as a way to tell the story of the songs. She added dialogue and events, some that are based in reality and others that haven’t happened, to create a story arc around my dream, to give it a thicker plot, using the music videos within and creating a larger film. I’ve always had a vivid imagination and it was really special to make these subconscious moments real, but it was also a really emotional and raw ...

Young Thug was arrested today in Atlanta on charges of participation in street gang activity and conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, online jail records show. The rapper’s arrest is the result of a larger grand jury indictment that names 28 members and associates of his label and imprint YSL (Young Slime Life/Young Stoner Life/Young Slatt Life), The New York Times reports and court documents confirm. Among the names listed in the 56-count indictment is Gunna, who was also charged with conspiring to violate RICO. Yak Gotti, PeeWee Roscoe, and Thug’s brother Unfoonk were also indicted. The indictment defines YSL as a “criminal street gang” founded in 2012 with an affiliation with the Bloods. While all 28 defendants were charged with cons...
Compton rapper YG (born: Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson) had his 2018 robbery charges dismissed after settling out of court with the alleged victim for an undisclosed sum. According to Rolling Stone, the trial was set to begin on May 16; TMZ reports that the alleged victim was no longer cooperating with prosecutors in the criminal case. Pitchfork has reached out to the Clark County District Attorney’s office for comment. In a statement to Pitchfork, YG’s lawyer Joe Tacopina said: “This was the only decision consistent with justice. It was a case that never should have been brought in the first place but at the end of the day YG has been cleared and can focus on his art.” YG was first sued in June 2018 by a man claiming he was assaulted by YG’s security after approaching him at the Cosmopo...
One week after announcing Morgan Wallen’s first major awards show appearance since being caught shouting the N-word on camera, the Billboard Music Awards has doubled down by booking Travis Scott. The 2022 BBMAs will mark Scott’s first awards show appearance since his Astroworld Festival in November, which left 10 people dead. The Houston rapper is still facing a multi-million dollar class action lawsuit brought forth by victims of the tragedy, for which he has denied responsibility on multiple occasions. On top of that, the FBI announced they had joined the Houston Police Department in their ongoing investigation of the event earlier this year. After launching his Project HEAL safety initiative project in March, however, Scott has slowly trickled back into the public ey...
HBO is about to welcome us back to Westworld, and the theme park is not looking good. In the newly released trailer for Season 4 of the sci-fi drama, officially premiering on June 26th, Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and her fellow Hosts continue to deal with their Human feelings — and as all humans know, it’s a pretty rocky ride. Perfectly set to Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day,” the cinematic Season 4 trailer begins calm enough — Maeve (Thandiwe Newton) takes a casual stroll, Caleb (Aaron Paul) drinks Sangria in the park (so to speak) — but chaos quickly ensues as the song swells. The Man in Black (Ed Harris) and Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright) come closer to death, and as allegiances blur, Reed’s hex seems inevitable: the characters are all going to reap just what they sow. Watch the trailer for...
Young Thug was arrested on gang activity and racketeering charges in Atlanta on Monday. According to the New York Times, Young Thug was charged with one count each of participation in street gang activity and conspiracy to violate the RICO Act as part of a 56-count indictment filed against the rapper and 27 of his associates. YSL (short for Young Slime Life) is the name of Young Thug’s record label. However, in its indictment the Fulton County District Attorney alleges that the Atlanta-based YSL also engages in criminal gang activities, including murder and armed robbery. Related Video As the co-founder of YSL, Young Thug is specifically accused of renting a car which was used in the 2015 murder of a rival gang member named Donovan Thomas, Jr. Prosecutors also say that members of YSL sough...
The Pitch: In 2020, a Hulu adaptation of Sally Rooney’s sophomore novel took the spring by storm. Beloved by critics and audiences alike, Normal People launched Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones into immediate stardom territory, and with good reason — the limited series was both tender and excruciatingly heavy; romantic and frustrating; hard to watch and impossible to turn off. It only makes sense that Hulu would want to give it all another go with Rooney’s debut novel, Conversations with Friends. This story follows introverted poet Frances (Alison Oliver) and her ex-girlfriend, best friend, and muse all at once, Bobbi (a luminous Sasha Lane). The two become involved with an older married couple, Melissa (Jemima Kirke) and Nick (Joe Alwyn), and the messy threads that tie them all...
