Brockhampton sweetened the deal of their indefinite hiatus with an announcement at Coachella that confirmed that their final album will be releasing in 2022. The Texas band recently shared that the two-weekend festival in California would mark their farewell as a band. As they finished their set on the Sahara stage which included performances of their biggest hits “Buzzcut,” “1999 Wildfire,” “Summer” and “Boogie,” it concluded with the band’s logo and the final words “The Final Album” and “2022” on the screens. Fans at the festival and online erupted, with many immediately taking to social media to share and celebrate the news. Travis Scott didn’t make an official appearance at Coachella 2022 this weekend, but he did perform at a nearby afterparty, TMZ and E! report. According to TMZ, Scott arrived at a venue in La Quinta around 3 a.m., and played five of his own songs during a brief DJ set. Pitchfork has reached out to Travis Scott’s representatives for further comment. Scott was supposed to headline Coachella 2020 alongside Frank Ocean and Rage Against the Machine before the festival was cancelled due to COVID-19. One day after performing with his sister Billie Eilish during her headlining set, Finneas performed his own set at Coachella on Sunday. During his performance, he offered a brief acoustic rendition of “Nobody Like U,” a song from the Pixar film Turning Red. Finneas and Eilish provided the music for the movie’s fictional boy band 4*Town. Watch the performance below. Finneas voiced the character Jessie in the film.
