Following the tragic death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters canceled all of their scheduled 2022 tour dates. One of those dates was a headlining gig at the upcoming Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. Today (April 6th), organizers announced that Nine Inch Nails will replace Foo Fighters on the Sunday (May 22nd) lineup of the four-day fest. It’s the second such announcement of the day, as Boston Calling revealed this morning that NIN would be filling in for Foo Fighters on the first night (May 27th) of its three-day lineup. The addition of Nine Inch Nails creates a triumvirate of early ’90s alt-rock legends at the top of Welcome to Rockville’s Sunday bill, with The Smashing Pumpkins and Jane’s Addiction playing right before NIN. Post Animal are back with another look at their upcoming album Love Gibberish. This time, they’ve shared the hair metal throwback “No More Sports.” Listen to the single below. Post Animal have never been shy about their classic rock influences, but “No More Sports” takes the ’80s theatrics to a whole new level with choppy guitar, spacey synthesizers, and lyrics like “Going 95 down the highway of burning desire.” Even better, the single comes with a kaleidoscopic, partially animated music video that looks like it was ripped directly from a Guitar Hero performance. The Chicago psych rockers explained the origins of “No More Sports” in a statement, calling it “an ode to early arena rock of the ’80s with a twist of ego death. All the bravado of a hair metal song with lyrics that examine s...

Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia are on the verge of releasing their long-awaited debut album, Paradise Again, on April 15th. The supergroup also recently contributed production to two songs from The Weeknd’s chart-topping 5th studio album, Dawn FM. Swedish...
Coming off his biggest year yet that includes a phenomenal collaboration with ILLENIUM and Valerie Broussard, Nurko has unveiled his Arrival EP. Though fans have already been introduced to three of the five tracks featured, hearing them in Nurko’s chosen order helps define the tone of the EP. The slow-burning intro helps paint a vivid soundscape, directly leading into “Disappearing Now” (with Chander Leighton). Her ethereal vocals guide listeners through a familiar path, as she croons about struggling to clearly define one’s identity. The following tune, “Lost Without You” (with Crystal Skies and KnownAsNat), continues the moving presence found early on in the EP. KnownAsNat conveys heartbreak through her lyrics while the abundance of soaring synths...

When interviewer Jimmy Kay brought up the fact that several members of IRON MAIDEN have publicly acknowledged the inspiration they drew from his early recordings, Schenker replied (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Yeah, it’s all true. Lil Silva has shared a new song in collaboration with Sampha. It’s called “Backwards.” Listen to it below. Both artists shared a statement about the song: “Backwards” is the feeling of alienation and constantly venting in a matrix you find yourself inside, whatever that may be.… Restricted and feeling guilty to move forward, constantly going backwards mentally.… I guess the song is about being in a never ending cycle and the heaviness that can bring on you.… It’s a metaphor for that. The “Backwards” announcement notes to “stay tuned for more from Lil Silva coming soon.” Sampha’s last album, Process, came out five years ago. In 2020, he collaborated with Actress on “Walking Flames.” Content This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.
