At a court hearing today (April 5), Tory Lanez had his bail increased and was remanded into custody for violating terms of the protective order in his felony assault case, TMZ and Rolling Stone report. He is expected to be released quickly after posting the new $350,000 bail, according to the reports. Shawn Holley, a lawyer for Tory Lanez (whose real name is Daystar Peterson), confirmed in a statement to Pitchfork, “The D.A. requested that Mr. Peterson’s bail be revoked or, in the alternative, that it be increased to $5 million. The follow-up to 2018’s Million Dollars to Kill Me is produced by Rob Schnapf, who previously worked with the band on Cody. In April 2014, Tate and QUEENSRŸCHE announced that a settlement had been reached after a nearly two-year legal battle where the singer sued over the rights to the QUEENSRŸCHE name after being fired in 2012. Fellow original QUEENSRŸCHE members Michael Wilton (guitar), Scott Rockenfield (drums) and Eddie Jackson (bass) responded with a countersuit.
