Ward will embark on the “Melt Away Tour: A Tribute to Brian Wilson.” This ode to the genius behind The Beach Boys is named for Wilson’s solo classic, “Melt Away,” but will also include selections from the duo’s discography. Given the time of year, fans are probably more likely to hear cuts from Volume One, Volume Two, and Volume Three than A Very She & Him Christmas or their most recent album, 2016’s Christmas Party. Deschanel and Ward will kick things off in Denver, Colorado on June 13th. That’s as far east as they’ll travel on the first leg of this 11-date trek, which also includes stops in Utah, California, Ore...

For her birthday this year, REZZ treated fans to an unexpected gift. The beloved bass music producer recently shared that she has a collaboration in the works with Canadian compatriot and renowned electropunk artist Alice Glass. Unfortunately, fans will have to be content with just the reveal since neither REZZ nor Glass have provided a...
Innovative sound design, a string orchestra and eclectic sampling come together in “Whale Song,” an ode to the ocean by Los Angeles-based producers Carina Nour and Gibs. The grippingly textured “Whale Song” channels the tides with an easy ebb and flow of minimalistic melodic house, classical and ambient inspirations. Scene-setting sonics are as grounding as they are disorienting: muted, thumping rhythms; bright, crackling samples; billowing bass tones. It’s as though you are actually underwater, guided through the depths by tropical drums, a rippling melody, and distorted audio samples. Clocking in at nearly seven minutes, “Whale Song” is brought to an almost overwhelming peak by an orchestral string section, before finally settling to a close...
