In a new interview with the Phoenix, Arizona radio station KSLX-FM 100.7, JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford discussed his autobiography, “Confess”, which arrived in September 2020 via Hachette Books. Co-written with Ian Gittins, the book offered readers a compelling, heartfelt and honest look at the struggles Rob has faced with addiction and his sexuality as well as exploring his music and his many brushes with controversy. Rob said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I was approached in my 30s. ‘Rob, do you want to do a book?’ I’m, like, ‘No, dude. I’ve got more of a life to live.’ And then there’s a little bell [that] goes, ‘Ping! It’s time to do it.’ So we put that together while the pandemic was going on. ...

Now I know someone, an innocent person, who is having her freedom taken from her. I have been crying ever since. “My mom said t...

DISTURBED‘s David Draiman was one of the musicians who joined Lou Brutus of HardDrive Radio to celebrate the 30th anniversary of PANTERA‘s classic sophomore major label album “Vulgar Display Of Power”. Speaking about the impact the LP had on his musical upbringing, Draiman said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “[PANTERA] really, I think, at that point, had honed the whole groove metal thing that they had pioneered; they had gotten it to be so, so perfect. And look, that record was songs we covered, songs we adored, songs that were the soundtrack to many a late-night bit of Sodom and Gomorrah on the bus [laughs] — all kinds of craziness. There was all kinds of moments that those songs are literally part of the soundtrack to our upbringing. “A lot of ...

Russia will not be allowed to participate in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, the executive board of the European Broadcasting Union announced today (February 25). “The decision reflects concern that, in light of the unprecedented crisis in Ukraine, the inclusion of a Russian entry in this year’s Contest would bring the competition into disrepute,” the EBU said in a statement. Find the full statement below. Several public figures in Russia have decried President Vladimir V. Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine. The popular rapper Oxxxymiron canceled concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg, explaining, “I cannot entertain you when Russian missiles are falling on Ukraine—when residents of Kyiv are forced to hide in basements and in the metro, while people are dying.” Other musicians voicing opp...
Drakeo the Ruler’s brother Ralfy the Plug has filed a lawsuit against Live Nation—the organizer of the Once Upon a Time in LA music festival where Drakeo was fatally stabbed in a backstage altercation last December, TMZ and Rolling Stone report. Ralfy’s lawsuit follows a $60 million wrongful death lawsuit filed on behalf of Drakeo’s 5-year-old son. TV shows and movies have been using songs to supplement stories for decades. On HBO’s Euphoria, tracks don’t just add emotion and intensity to certain scenes, the music has become as central to the story as the characters in the show themselves. The songs featured span decades and genres — including a ‘60s era Andy Williams hit to “Nonstop” off Drake’s 2018 smash Scorpion. But how does the show’s music supervisor Jen Malone curate the perfect soundtrack? It’s actually not rocket science: “Through Spotify, Soundcloud, Instagram, and Twitter. I just find the artists and read all the blogs,” she told W Magazine shortly after the pilot came out in June 2019. “I have a good network of friends who know what’s poppin’ and use playlists. I go into the rabbit holes and see what’s good.” Explore See...
