Oxxxymiron, a popular rapper in Russia, has indefinitely canceled six sold out concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg in protest of President Vladimir Putin’s invasion and assault on Ukraine, The New York Times reports. The rapper was one of several public figures in the country who called for an end to the war. “I know that most people in Russia are against this war, and I am confident that the more people would talk about their real attitude to it, the faster we can stop this horror,” said Oxxxymiron in a statement (translated by the Times). “I cannot entertain you when Russian missiles are falling on Ukraine—when residents of Kyiv are forced to hide in basements and in the metro, while people are dying.” Several other Russian musicians—including Kasta, Shym, Vladi, Khamil, Zmey, and Noiz...
Denzel Curry and slowthai have joined forces for the newest Melt My Eyez See Your Future single, “Zatoichi.” The track follows “Walkin” and features production from Powers Pleasant, who carries Curry from a hip-hop track to a drum and bass offering while slowthai hops on the dynamic single’s chorus. “Zatoichi,” which takes inspiration from the legendary 1960’s Japanese samurai movie character of the same name and Quentin Tarantino‘s Kill Bill Vol. 2, also arrives with an accompanying music video helmed by Adrian Villagomez that features Montreal-based dancer and performer Sophia Gaspard. “I like traditional hip hop, I like drum and bass, I like trap, I like poetry, so a lot of that is going to be interwoven in this album including jazz and a lot of genres that I came up on as a kid an...

DNCE’s comeback has a new lineup with the departure of keyboardist Cole Whittle, and Jonas recently told Rolling Stone that he has a completely new vision for the pop-rock act he launched in 2015. “I can kind of foresee it becoming this E Street Band where members come and go,” he told the magazine. “It could be a great opportunity to have some special guests, like obviously Ryan [Tedder], who is a fantastic musician. I can totally see him hopping up onst...

Almost five years to the day since his 2017 death, an anesthesiologist medical group has agreed to pay the family of Bill Paxton $1 million as part of a partial settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit, Deadline reports. Attorneys for Dr. Moody Makar and General Anesthesia Specialists Partnership sought the approval of Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Steven Kleifield for the deal, saying it would “reasonably compensate plaintiffs and avoid exposing defendant to an expensive and time consuming litigation” despite denying liability in the matter. Dr. Makar was the anesthesiologist for the heart surgery Paxton underwent to replace a heart valve and repair aorta damage in February 2017. Paxton died 11 days later after suffering a stroke, according to his death certificate. Advertisement Related...
Avril Lavigne has unveiled her brand new album Love Sux via DTA/Elektra Records. Stream it below on Apple Music and Spotify. As the singer’s first full-length studio effort since 2019’s Head Above Water, the album signals a brash and delightfully bratty return to her pop-punk roots with singles like “Bite Me” featuring Travis Barker and the Blackbear-assisted “Love It When You Hate Me.” In addition, the LP contains other collaborations with Machine Gun Kelly (“Bois Lie”) and Barker’s Blink-182 bandmate Mark Hoppus (“All I Wanted”). “The album is light and happy, even though there’s songs about heartbreak and breaking up. But it’s also anthemic, and it’s powerful, and it has a positive message for people to stand up for yourself, to have self-worth,” Lavigne said in a December interview wit...
