Willie Nelson has announced a new album titled A Beautiful Time. It’s due out April 29 through Legacy Recordings to celebrate his 89th birthday that same day. Nelson is sharing the record’s lead single, “I’ll Love You Till the Day I Die,” today, which you can check out below. While the majority of songs on A Beautiful Time were co-written by Nelson and Buddy Cannon, “I’ll Love You Till the Day I Die” is technically a Rodney Crowell and Chris Stapleton original. The LP also includes covers of The Beatles’ classic “With a Little Help From My Friends” and Leonard Cohen’s 1988 song “Tower of Song.” Nelson’s most recent albums, the Frank Sinatra tribute record That’s Life and the collaborative studio full-length The Willie Nelson Family, were both released in 2021. That same year, he teamed up ...
Angélique Kidjo has released the music video for her song “Do Yourself,” featuring Burna Boy. In the visual, directed by Meji Alabi, both musicians can be seen dancing to the song at an “outsider cafe” while musicians and singers in the background join along. Check out the video below. “With Burna Boy, we have written the anthem for a new Africa—laced with modernity, beauty, and energy,” Kidjo said in a statement. “We revere Africa because she is the birthplace of all humanity. We won’t let her fall apart, we know she is strong like metal and steel. A long time ago we learned that if you want Africa to change, you have to do it yourself!” “Do Yourself” is taken from Kidjo’s most recent album, Mother Nature, which was released last year. Kidjo earned three nominations at the 2022 Grammys: Be...

The track started as a couple of stems from some old loops I had that I sent to Fred, last year—then I eventually went over to his a couple of times in December and we made the track together, accompanied by some lovely walks down the River Thames and lots of cups o’ tea. It was great to work with him, had lots of fun!
Former MACHINE HEAD and current VIO-LENCE guitarist Phil Demmel recently filled in for LAMB OF GOD guitarist Willie Adler during the band’s January appearance on the ShipRocked cruise. The reasons for Adler missing the cruise have not been disclosed. Adler‘s brother, Chris, departed the band in 2019. Demmel‘s appearance with LAMB OF GOD marks his third high-profile fill-in gig in four years. Demmel stepped in for SLAYER guitarist Gary Holt for four European shows in the fall of 2018 after Gary returned home to be with his dying father. Demmel also subbed for Dave Linsk at OVERKILL‘s November 13 concert at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey. In a new interview with BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Demmel discussed how he became such an in-demand hired gun: “The SLA...
Dutch/Norwegian rockers THE GATHERING will release their first studio album in almost a decade, “Beautiful Distortion”, in April via Psychonaut Records. Produced by Attie Bauw, who previously worked on 2006’s “Home” and 1998’s “How To Measure A Planet?”, the band’s 11th studio LP will contain eight songs with a running time of nearly 50 minutes. The official music video for the album’s second single, “We Rise”, can be seen below. THE GATHERING comments: “‘Beautiful Distortion’ is a typical eclectic THE GATHERING album, although it may be our most dynamic and melodic album to date. THE GATHERING‘s signature atmospheric and electronic rock sound is topped with the warm Nordic vocal lines by Silje ...
HIGH ON FIRE‘s Matt Pike will release his debut solo album, “Pike Vs. The Automaton”, on February 18 via MNRK Heavy. The official music video for the LP’s latest single, “Land”, can be seen below. The track features a guest appearance by MASTODON guitarist Brent Hinds, an old pal of Pike‘s. “‘Land’ was written after I had just come home from a tour,” Pike said. “It’s like an old blues song. I was thinking of it as like a bunch of old dudes in a subway doing a doo-wop thing. It has the feel of a two-step like my mom used to dance to, like country western. It’s totally about depression and leading a hard life. Later I was playing the song for Brent Hinds from MASTODON who had come out to Portland to jam with ...

Last year, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey resurrected Wayne and Garth for a Wayne’s World-themed Super Bowl commercial. For this year’s Big Game, Myers has brought back another one of his beloved characters — Dr. Evil. Myers stars alongside fellow Austin Powers cast members Seth Green, Rob Lowe, and Mindy Sterling in a new commercial for General Motors. To be honest, the premise is pretty dumb: Dr. Evil has made GM headquarters his new evil lair, and intends to use the company’s “Ultium Platform” to power his whole operation… while reducing carbon emissions. “I will help save the world first, then take over the world,” declares Dr. Evil. Welcome to the Second Age. We’re finally in the same calendar year as the premiere of Amazon’s long-awaited Lord of the Rings series, The Rings of Power, and Vanity Fair has provided the first look at the characters rounding out the show, including Robert Aramayo’s Elrond, Joseph Mawle‘s Oren, Markella Kavenagh’s Tyra, Robert Aramayo’s Beldor, and Morfydd Clark‘s Galadriel. Check out some pictures below. Led by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, The Rings of Power takes place thousands of years before the events of The Lord of the Rings films and “unites all the major stories of Middle-earth’s Second Age: the forging of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic tale of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men.” All of this is bas...
Foo Fighters have lots of respect for the great artists who have come before, whether that’s Bee Gees, Van Halen, or the Fraggles. That’s right, Dave Grohl and friends perform alongside their esteemed muppet peers in the new music video for “Fraggle Rock Rock.” The Foos unveiled the song last month to coincide with the debut of Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock on Apple TV+. The video finds them sharing the stage — or trying to, at any rate, because some of these Fraggles aren’t very good at ceding the spotlight. Occasional tussle aside, everyone seems to be having fun, as you can see in the video below. Foo Fighters aren’t the only humans who will be venturing to Fraggle Rock. During the 13-episode run, Patti LaBelle performs “Shine on Us Now (Moon Come Soon),” ...
Morgan Wallen kicked off “The Dangerous Tour” on Wednesday evening, effectively marking the end of his brief cancelation following his use of the N-word on camera. The country singer performed before a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden, and by the sound of it, the concert wasn’t too dissimilar to a Trump rally. According to Rolling Stone, chants of “Let’s Go Brandon” (MAGA nation’s sophomoric euphemism for “Fuck Joe Biden”) broke out during the concert. Fox News *of course* has the exclusive footage. Rolling Stone also spoke to attendees of the concerts to inquire whether they were bothered by Wallen’s use of a racial slur. “It doesn’t matter. We love him,” responded one woman named Molly. Another woman named Erica added, “I love this man. I think he deserves the world.” Meanwhile, a...
