A new digital instrument is empowering disabled musicians and students to create music with their eyes. The assistive technology is called the EyeHarp, and it pairs with eye and head trackers so that players can control melodies—including chords, arpeggios and pitch—with only the smallest of movements. This feature makes EyeHarp uniquely accessible to players with all kinds of physical and mental disabilities, in therapy, teaching and performance settings. The technology is also adaptable to each user’s skill level and can change between the tones of more than 20 instruments, including piano, flute, trumpet and bass guitar. Watch it at work below, played by 11-year-old Joel Bueno. Recommended Articles According to founder Zacharias Vamvakousis, the idea for the EyeHarp wa...
Benny the Butcher has announced his new album, Tana Talk 4, and shared its lead single, “Johnny P’s Caddy” featuring J. Cole. Stream the song below. The album, a follow-up to 2018’s Tana Talk 3 and the two mixtapes that preceded it in 2004 and 2009, is produced by The Alchemist and Daringer. Though no release date has been revealed as of yet, Tana Talk 4 will arrive sometime later this year. Its lead single, meanwhile, takes its sentimental title from the car the rapper’s dad owned when he was a child growing up in his native Buffalo. On the track, Benny lays down a rapid-fire autobiographical verse before tossing the mic to J. Cole. When Kid Rock first announced his “Bad Reputation Tour,” I jokingly referred to it as the “Superspreader Tour,” which sent the Bawitdaba stans into a tizzy, because god forbid one questions Mr. Colostomy Bag’s attention to health and safety. Well, lo and behold, Robert Ritchie is now threatening to cancel concerts on his upcoming tour if venues dare to enforce vaccine mandates. In a video posted to Facebook, Kid Rock assured fans that he and his team did extensive research and are confident that they hadn’t booked a gig at a venue with an existing mandate; and if they had, that the mandates “will be done… by the time we’re going to get to your city.” “If they’re not,” Kid Rock continued, “you don’t have to worry, you’ll be getting your money back — because I won’t be showing up either! If ...

In a major interview discussing KISS‘s classic “Destroyer” album, Paul Stanley admitted that he had a really hard time dealing with producer Bob Ezrin‘s decision to give the Stanley-penned classic song “God Of Thunder” to Gene Simmons to sing. “Let’s put it mildly,” Stanley says in the new issue of Rock Candy magazine. “It was crushing and devastating. We’d understood and agreed that the role of the producer on ‘Destroyer’ was to have final say and make decisions. When I played ‘God Of Thunder’, Bob immediately said, ‘Oh, that’s great. That’s for Gene.’ I was just devastated. The idea of a song so quickly being passed off from me to someone else… It was difficult, and it remain...
Eddie Van Halen‘s ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli discussed her new book, “Enough Already: Learning To Love The Way I Am Today”, during a recent appearance on QFM96‘s “Torg & Elliott” radio show. Bertinelli reflected on the special relationship she had with her late ex-husband, saying they were still on good terms when they split two decades ago. “I pull things apart very, very gently, or at least I try to,” she said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “There was never a lawyer. We had a mediator. We still lived together when we finally said, ‘We just need to move apart,’ until I found a home. And Ed was the first person to look at the home I live in now to make sure that we both felt that it was close enough to his house t...
Finnish melancholic progressive metallers AMORPHIS will release their fourteenth studio album, “Halo”, on February 11, 2022 via Atomic Fire Records. The official music video for the LP’s latest single, “On The Dark Waters”, directed by Pekka Hara, can be seen below. Lyricist Pekka Kainulainen comments: “I got the idea to reverse the direction of the Tuonela stream — Tuonela is the realm of the dead in Finnish mythology. So I started writing from the moment of death… And death was not the end, but the beginning.” In the past, mythology and legend took the role of today’s pop culture: Stories and a set of values uniting us by giving us a voice and a tapestry on which we can find each other and identify with something. By weaving the tales...
