Cardi B Wins Million Dollar Defamation Suit Against YouTuber

The people have spoken: Cardi B was the victim of an Invasion of Privacy. Today (January 24th), a federal jury ruled that a woman’s YouTube videos and social media posts about Cardi B were, in fact, defamatory, ending a two-week trial and awarding the rapper a cool $1.25 million. Born Belcalis Almánzar, Cardi B sued Latasha Kebe in 2019 over a “malicious campaign” to tarnish her reputation. Kebe posted dozens of videos about the rapper with accusations ranging from the unfortunate to the unsavory, including that she had cheated on her husband, that she had contracted herpes, and that she had “fucked herself with beer bottles on fucking stripper stages.” In a trial that kicked off January 10th in Georgia, Cardi said she felt “suicidal” over the videos, proclaiming that “only an evil person ...

Young delivered the request in an open letter to his management and record label, though the letter seems to have been removed from his website. Lane 8’s “Reviver” Album Is Sonic Rejuvenation

Lane 8‘s brand new album is an introspective search for a more hopeful tomorrow.  In the lead-up to the “Run” producer’s first album since 2020, he previewed a kaleidoscopic offering of singles. While tracks like “Automatic” (with Solomon Grey) and “What Have You Done To Me?” (with Arctic Lake) showcased the melancholic deep house sound Lane 8 fans have come to know and love, he wasn’t intent on simply rehashing history. The album’s titular track “Reviver” and “Nuclear Lethargy” bring a distinctly energizing new flare to the producer’s discography that in some respects feels like his preparation for the festival stage. Lane 8 has become a relatively new favorite on the festival circuit and will b...

With sinister synths and powerful brass shots, the beat builds anticipation and suspense before it culminates in a huge a midtempo drop. The lyrics of “Ghost” are all about taking the power back and moving on from a toxic relationship: “I’ve been trying too long, it’s time to move on, so ‘poof’ like a ghost I’m gone,” Nostalgix raps.  “The idea for ‘Ghost’ arrived abruptly in the midst of the chaos of the pandemic,” Dr. Fresch explained. “I had been isolated for quite awhile and had a sudden burst of energy, dreaming of being ba...

In a new interview with IndiePower.com, Steve Vai spoke about his years as the guitarist in David Lee Roth‘s post-VAN HALEN solo band, alongside former TALAS bassist Billy Sheehan and drummer Gregg Bissonette. Asked what his favorite memories are of that period, Steve said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Well, there were so many. Touring, becoming a ‘rock star’ basically overnight by joining David Lee Roth‘s solo band when he left VAN HALEN was just a shocker. Every night on tour was just… Oh my God, it was something that I’m really glad I experienced. And there was a lot of other things. The camaraderie between me and Billy and Gregg was, and still is, very strong, and those are life relationships that you can’t put a value on them. So that...
