Shortly after the release of Drake and 21 Savage‘s Her Loss collaborative album, artists have now taken offense to some of the mentions of them on the project. Specifically, lines from the Canadian artist on a number of songs found on the 16-track album have caught the attention of Ye, Megan Thee Stallion, Ice Spice, and more. After squashing his beef with Ye, on the trending track “Circo Loco,” Drake rapped “Linking with the opps, b*tch, I did that sh*t for J. Prince/B*tch, I did it for the Mob Ties.” Referencing how the Rap-A-Lot founder urged him to perform together at the Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert to mend their relationship. Everything But the Girl Say They’ve Made Their First Album in Over 20 Years
Everything But the Girl have said that they have completed a new album and will release it in spring 2023. Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt shared the news on Twitter yesterday (November 2), adding that more details would follow soon. The new record will be their first under the Everything But the Girl name since 1999’s Temperamental, which they reissued in 2020. Though the duo quietly came to an end in 1999, Thorn and Watt, who are married, occasionally worked together as Thorn released a string of solo records and Watt ran his Strange Feeling record label. The Van Pelt Announce Vinyl Reissues of First Two Albums
New York City’s The Van Pelt are an influential, but too often overlooked indie rock band whose first two albums — 1996’s Stealing From Our Favorite Thieves and 1997’s Sultans of Sentiment — are cult favorites for many an emo-inclined crate digger. Today, they’ve announced that they’re reissuing remastered editions of those two albums, marking the first time they’ve been pressed to vinyl in over two decades. In addition to the reissues of Stealing and Sultan, The Van Pelt are also releasing two very limited cassette pressings chock-full of demos from the era, both featuring previously unreleased tracks.
