The family of George Floyd is planning to sue Kanye West after the rapper questioned Floyd’s cause of death during a recent appearance on Drink Champs. West suggested that Floyd—who was killed by Derek Chauvin—died due to fentanyl, despite the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office ruling Floyd’s death a homicide and Chauvin being convicted of murder and manslaughter. Roxie Washington will be filing the lawsuit on behalf of her and George Floyd’s minor daughter Gianna. The family will be seeking at least $250 million in damages, according to attorneys from the Witherspoon Law Group and Dixon & Dixon Attorneys at Law. The attorneys have also sent a cease-and-desist letter to West, according to a press release from the legal teams. “The interests of the child are priority,” Nuru Withe...
It seems as though Kacey Musgraves is rooting for Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke. During the “Butterflies” singer’s headlining set during the second weekend of Austin City Limits Music Festival this weekend, the star told the crowd at one point, “Honestly, I could use a drink. Is there any beer or anything out there?” O’Rourke then surprised the crowd by briefly stepping onstage to hand Musgraves a bottle of beer. Though the duo said nothing at all about the interaction, the country singer-songwriter took a swig of the beverage and said, “That really hit the spot.” O’Rourke is seen waving to the cheering crowd, before walking off the stage to enjoy the rest of the show. Since the show’s debut, House of the Dragon has brought back that quintessential Game of Thrones experience many had back when the original series ran. While the production value of the show is commendable, any story told in this universe would be nothing without its writing and characters. House of the Dragon has continued to introduce a number of great and thought-provoking figures to fans, but as of Episode 9, “The Green Council,” the White Worm is the most intriguing. Who is she? Let’s explore below. Who Is the White Worm? Before becoming the infamous White Worm, Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) originated as a slave from Essos. After months of speculation, Netflix will begin offering an ad-supported plan beginning in November. The new ad-supported tier will launch amid a tumultuous year for Netflix, which faced subscriber losses in the first half of 2022. The company’s hope is that this price-conscious plan will boost both subscribers and revenue in the longterm, in a win-win for everyone. While it will now be Netflix’s least expensive plan, the Basic with Ads subscriber option comes with a few strings attached — mainly, that anyone opting in to the tier can expect to see between 4-5 minutes of commercials per each hour of content. On the other hand, it comes at a lower monthly price point. (For those uninterested in ads, Netflix will continue to offer its ad-free plans at higher price points.) Related Video Befo...
The Pitch: Thousands of years ago, in the fictional Middle Eastern kingdom of Kahndaq, an evil king enslaved his people to mine for a precious ore. One young boy rose up to challenge the king, and his bravery was noticed by some wizards with the ability to grant the pure-of-heart awe-inspiring powers. (Cool idea for a superhero origin — definitely sounds familiar.) Stories about what happened to the boy once he was able to harness those powers and defeat the king are vague, but the resulting hero, known as Teth Adam (Dwayne Johnson), was not heard from again. Until the present day, that is, a time when Kahndaq is largely under the control of outside mercenaries who are also trying to mine for the unobtanium vibranium adamantium eternium there. Despite their strict control, the mercenaries ...
