Listen to MIRAMAR’s Sultry Nu-Disco Track With Chris James, “Verano”

California-based DJ and entrepreneur Aric Christopher, who produces smooth dance music as MIRAMAR, has reimagined nu-disco in a twist fans have been waiting for. MIRAMAR upbringing is rooted in surf, skate and snow culture in various coastal California communities. While there are many layers to his entrepreneurial spirit, electronic music production has always remained a creative constant. His brand evokes his itinerant, hedonistic nature and calls to the self-indulgent pleasures of travel and adventure. That’s how he got his stage name, which is a direct translation of “to observe the ocean.” MIRAMAR spends much of his time surfing in remote locations and drawing musical inspiration from these experiences. MIRAMAR’s unique sound lies at th...

The band collaborated with Kaskade previously on their 2020 effort, “Haunt Me,” a song which combined the band’s penchant for dreamy atmospheric soundscapes with the added flair of electronic arpeggiation and house rhythms from Kaskade.  With “Alive,” the band delves even further into the house music rabbit hole. Kx5 let the vocals shine in the verse as spacey vocals echo desolately only to the steady thump of ...

Weyes Blood Drives Through Her Feelings on New Song “Grapevine”: Stream

As Weyes Blood, Natalie Mering hopes that a nice long drive will sort her feelings on the new song, “Grapevine.” “Grapevine” takes its title from a stretch of Interstate 5 with the same name in Southern California. Over pensive acoustic guitars, she sings, “Six hours on the grapevine/ And I feel kidnapped this time/ ‘Cause my baby thinks/ He always believes/ That he’s always right/ But I still think of him at night.” During the second verse, her “car broke down/ In an old ghost town/ Right around where they got James Dean,” and by the song’s conclusion, she comes to the realization that, “Now we’re just two cars passing by.” Advertisement Related Video “Technology is harvesting our attention away from each other,” Mering wrote in a statement. “We all have a ‘G...

Lizzo Had Time For Kanye West During Her SOLD OUT Show In Toronto

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Robert Okine / Getty Lizzo once again has to waste time addressing someone bringing her name up; this time, she seemingly clapped back at Kanye West. Ye or Kanye West, or whatever you want to call him, has been on one. The problematic multihyphenate has landed in hot water on both Instagram and Twitter after dropping antisemitic comments. He also took his dog and pony show to Fox News to chop it up with far-right apologist Tucker Carlson about his trash white lives matters shirts. During the interview, Ye, for whatever reason, decided to bring up Lizzo during his ridiculous and nonsensical diatribe. He loudly and wrongly claimed that “bots” were behind a push to keep Lizzo overweight. “Let’s get aside from the fact whether it’s fashion and vogue, which it...

Chucky Chuck Blasts Entire Kushstock Festival Crowd With Cannabis Fog Machine

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Pal Szilagyi Palko / EyeEm / Getty Chucky Chuck epically landed himself in the news cycle after pulling off a zany stunt by getting what was probably an already elevated crowd to an even higher state. During his set at the Kushstock festival, Chucky Chuck covered the attendees in a cannabis fog by way of an inventive setup that used leaf blowers to push out the smoke. The Kushstock Festival took place on Oct. 8 in Adelanto, Calif., a free event celebrating the joys of cannabis and was presented by the Medicated Barbies. Chucky Chuck worked with a pair of companies in the cannabis space to provide an experience that the 10,000 in attendance won’t soon forget. Whitesplainer Sarah Silverman Dragged For Insinuating Black Twitter Condones Kanye West Anti-Semitism

HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: D Dipasupil / Getty Sarah Silverman did it to herself. The vocal comedian and activist took to Twitter to insinuate that Black people, or at least Black Twitter, was being silent about the anti-Semitic rhetoric Kanye West has been accused of hurling—and she was quickly and curtly course-corrected for her tomfoolery. In case you’ve been unaware, Kanye West found himself placed on pause by first Instagram and then Twitter for what many say is anti-Semitic commentary. It started with him claiming Jews were who told Diddy to holla at him and then he said he was straight going to “Death Con 3” on Jews, after he gets some sleep. That said, the Black Twitter delegation has been flaming Kanye West since he moment he dropped those bombs, and before, and for ...
