Wearing a sky-blue dress covered in a sunny yellow floral print, the talk-show host stayed true to the sound of the 1998 country classic as she sang, “Bye bye, love, I’ll catch you later/ Got a lead foot down on my accelerator/ And the rear-view mirror torn off/ ‘Cause I ain’t never lookin’ back, and that’s a fact/ I’ve tried all I can imagine/ I’ve begged and pleaded in true lover’s fashion/ I’ve got pride, I’m takin’ it for a ride/ Bye bye, bye bye, my baby, bye bye.” Released as the lead single from her sophomore album I’m Alright, the anthemic song earned Messina her first-ever No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart and also pea...

A package of Genesis, Phil Collins and possibly Mike + the Mechanics music assets are said to be in the final deal stages, according to sources, but the name of the potential buyer is not yet known to Billboard. Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news Previously, Billboard reported that a package of Collins’ rights had been shopped for upwards of $200 million, according to sources. That package, sources says, has now morphed into a bigger deal that also includes all of the publishing for Genesis and possibly even Mike + the Mechanics, as well as their master recordings rights. Specifically, sources say the deal encompasses the artist’s share of the master recordings and publishing. In the case of Collins, that means a combination of artist royalties fo...
Billboard cover stars Grupo Firme joined reggaeton star Nicky Jam for a live taping of his The Rockstar Show on Wednesday (Sept. 28) at Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami. At one point, and as is tradition for Firme, the band and Nicky Jam took a tequila shot and even offered audience members a shot — a few volunteered, of course. “They had told me to expect this when I interviewed Grupo Firme,” Jam joked. Listen up, witches, Airbnb has unveiled a recreation of the Sanderson sisters’ cottage in Salem, Massachusetts ahead of the premiere of Hocus Pocus 2. Now you can live like a Sanderson sister, by which we mean you can have enchanting fun for one night only before getting banished to wherever you came from. This officially sanctioned, privately owned and operated cottage comes with a real mix of amenities. On the one hand, there’s a bubbling cauldron, an ancient spellbook where guests can “try their hand at enchantments,” and you can read by Black Flame Candle. On the other, “Guests should also note that because our precious cottage doesn’t come with ‘facilities’, if you will, we’ve added a modern outhouse just steps from the home for your convenience.” If that “modern outhouse” doesn’t tur...
Lisa Kudrow has been cast as the lead in Time Bandits, Taika Waititi’s upcoming Apple TV series based on Terry Gilliam’s 1981 film. Gilliam’s film centers around the time-traveling adventures of Kevin, an 11-year-old history buff, who incidentally finds six dwarfs who’ve emerged from his closet. But it looks like Waititi’s follow-up to What We Do in the Shadows might look a little different than the fantasy movie we know and love: Deadline confirms that Kudrow will play a presumably new character named Penelope, as the series expands on the premise of its film predecessor. Kal-El Tuck (Unseeing Evil), Charlyne Yi (Knocked Up), Tadhg Murphy (Conversations With Friends), Roger Jean Nsengiyumva (You Don’t Know Me), Rune Temte (Eddie the Eagle), Kiera Thompson (Martyrs Lane), an...
Everyone loves a two-parter, which is why actor-musician Caleb Landry Jones has announced Gadzooks Vol. 2, the appropriately titled follow up to 2021’s Gadzooks Vol. 1. The album is out November 4th via Sacred Bones, while first single “Touchdown Yolk” is available to stream now. Jones recorded Gadzooks Vol. 2 with Nic Jodoin and Drew Erickson at Los Angeles’ Valentine Recording Studios, the birthplace of records by The Beach Boys and Frank Zappa. Based on the opaque poem the artist shared in announcing the album, it appears those legends of psychedelia came through during the recording process. “I’m aware of only half the picture,” Jones writes. “It comes down upon me like a heavy rain. The psycho Deli is out of mustard and all the Porn Stars won’t leave their homes. I...
