Christine and the Queens Partners with Indochine on New Song “3SEX”: Stream
Christine and the Queens has teamed up with Indochine band leader Nicola Sirkis for a collaborative song called “3SEX”. The track reworks Indochine’s iconic French new wave cut “3e sexe”, originally released in 1986, into a synthpop dance tune about queer liberation. When sharing the song online, Chris posted a statement in French explaining what it means to her. “Thank you @nicolasirkis @indochinetwitt for the honor and for giving me the confidence to sing ‘3SEX’ with you, at a time when the very word freedom takes on all its meaning and urgency,” she tweeted. “Real revolutions never die. Minneapolis three piece The Soviet Machines lived out an alt-rock dream when they traveled to Seattle to work with producer Jack Endino (Nirvana’s Bleach). The band is now premiering the music video for “Get Your Kicks”, the lead single from their upcoming debut album, exclusively via Heavy Consequence. The Soviet Machines’ vintage power trio approach is well suited for Endino, who captured many of the Seattle grunge scene’s legendary guitar bands. Pt. 2” featuring fellow Chicagoan Tobi Lou. “So and So” is a laid-back ode to the flow, with the 26-year-old rapper reveling in double- and triple-rhymes based around the flexible “oh” sound. CAPPA launches #SmokeFreeNollywood campaign
The Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA) has called for adult rating for films with smoking scenes, anti-smoking adverts, anti-smoking health warnings, certified no pay-offs, stop identification of tobacco brands and a total ban on tobacco products placement in the Nigerian movie industry — Nollywood. The rights group made the call at its launch of the #SmokeFreeNollywood campaign in Lagos, last Saturday, noting that tobacco kills as many as six million people annually, and is projected to kill as much as eight million people by the year 2030, if nothing is done.
