Ranking: Every Mastodon Album from Worst to Best

Welcome to Dissected, where we disassemble a band’s catalog, a director’s filmography, or some other critical pop-culture collection. It’s exact science by way of a few beers. This time, we follow Mastodon’s impressive career, from their 2002 debut, Remission, to their most recent effort, 2021’s Hushed and Grim. Atlanta quartet Mastodon have spent 20-plus years as one of the most daring, dexterous, and delightfully badass metal bands of the new millennium. That’s no small feat considering how many forward-thinking acts are out there. However, it’s hard to disagree given the foursome’s unparalleled knack for channeling influences like Iron Maiden, Neurosis, Pink Floyd, and King Crimson into wholly characteristic concoctions of vibrant sludge/stoner/progressive metal madness. No More War? Drake and Kanye West Pose For Photographs

If a picture can speak a thousand words, a new photo of Drake and Kanye West could be fleshed out for a book. The hip-hop stars have been feuding in a war of words for more than a decade. It’s gone on so long, no one seems to remember who fired the first missile, though the verbal projectiles have been constant. West and Drake even clashed heads in the lead-up of their respective albums Donda and Certified Lover Boy. After ‘Ye briefly leaked Drake’s address, the OVO MC seemed to take shots at him on his song “7am on Bridle Path,” and later leaked ‘Ye and André 3000’s “Life of the Party” collab that didn’t make the cut on Donda. Britney Spears Addresses Family Post-Conservatorship: ‘I Have Not Forgotten’

Britney Spears took to Instagram on Tuesday to further address the end of her conservatorship and answer questions about what she’s going to do with her newfound freedom. “Well let’s see, I’ve been in the conservatorship for thirteen years,” said Spears, speaking directly to the camera just a day after she declared to be on “cloud 9” in the first weekend free of the constraints of her conservatorship. “It’s really a long time to be in a situation you don’t want to be in. So I’m just grateful honestly for each day and being able to have the keys to my car, being able to be independent and feel like a woman, and owning an ATM card, seeing cash for the first time, being able to buy candles. It’s the little things for us women but it makes a huge difference.” Explore See latest videos, charts ...

Wyclef Jean Dropped Range Rover’s CEO on His Head During Corporate Party

In a scene straight out of Succession, Wyclef Jean was hired to play a corporate gig for Range Rover, only to then nearly paralyze the company’s CEO by dropping him on his head. TMZ has video of the incident (see below), which occurred at the Range Rover Leadership Summit on Monday night. At some point during the evening, Wyclef decided to hoist the company’s CEO and President, Joe Eberhardt, onto his shoulders. With The Outfield’s “I Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love Tonight” playing in the background, the two basked in the surreal moment — until it all came tumbling down. Wyclef eventually lost his balance and proceeded to drop the elder Eberhardt right on his head. Fortunately, Eberhardt escaped seriously injury, but he certainly appears dazed in the video, and ended up leaving the party early...

Our Long National Nightmare is Over as Kanye and Drake Reach Peace Accord

Kanye West and Drake’s long-running beef is apparently over. The rappers — who have had issues for a while, but escalated their drama with diss tracks and inflammatory social media posts in recent months — took to Instagram this evening to mark the end of their feud with photos and videos of themselves hanging out together. Ye posted a photo of himself posing with Drake and Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J Prince; he captioned the image with the emoji for the white dove of peace. Drake, meanwhile, posted a video of Dave Chappelle speaking at the Canadian rapper’s home about the pair’s reconciliation, followed with another clip of himself and Ye together. “You have reached your destination,” the post’s caption reads. Adele’s 30 Is Much More Than a Divorce Album — It’s a Hard-Won Journey to Self-Love

“To be loved and love at the highest count, means to lose all the things I can’t live without.” When Adele croons that line on the devastating piano ballad “To Be Loved,” one gets the impression that it is not only emblematic of her latest album, but also the journey of the past six years of her life. On the surface, 30, out Friday (November 19th), could be perceived as a divorce album, but it’s more than that: It’s about depression, new love, rebirth, choosing the harder road even if it means self-preservation. Here, the singer digs deeper than she ever has before. Though Adele has always mastered the art of remaining notoriously private, despite being one of the biggest pop stars in the world, 30 unveils the extreme change she’s experienced over the years. Brass Against Singer Apologizes for Peeing on Fan’s Face as NASCAR Permanently Bans Band From Its Venues

The old adage “there’s no such thing as bad press” apparently doesn’t apply when you intentionally urinate on a fan’s face in the middle of a festival performance. At least that seems to be the case for Brass Against and their singer Sophia Urista, who on Tuesday night issued yet another apology for her actions this past weekend at Welcome to Rockville Festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. “I have always pushed the limits in music and stage. That night, I pushed the limits too far,” Urista wrote in a statement posted to her personal Twitter account. “I love my family, the band, and the fans more than anything and I know that some were hurt or offended by what I did. I apologize to them and want them to know that I didn’t mean to hurt them.” Advertisement Related Video “I am not a shock artis...
