Nothing can stop Morgan Wallen’s ascent to country superstardom, not even a massive controversy and being banned from select radio stations. Over the past month alone, Wallen’s radio airplay has more than doubled (!) in the latest instance of an unsurprising comeback, reports Billboard. Nearly 150 radio stations report to Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, and the numbers they tracked are hard to argue with. At the start of May, their accumulated spins clocked in around the low 1,000s. In the first week of May that number went up to 1,100 and in the second week it was bumped to 1,500. Fast forward to the first week of June and there’s more than 2,900 plays. That’s a total gain of 164% in the span of one month — and with summer on the way, chances are those numbers will only continue to ris...
The Killers just won’t stop killing it. Less than a year after the release of their most recent album Imploding the Mirage, drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. has announced that their next LP is arriving this August. Details are scarce, but he did call the upcoming release “a bit of a concept record,” and “very different.” The news came in an interview with the podcast and YouTube show Sarah Hagan Backstage. Hagan brought up Imploding the Mirage, and she could scarcely get through the exposition of “you guys came out with an album last year,” before Vannucci jumped in. “Last August,” he said, adding, “We have another one coming out this August.” Related Video The rocker then spoke about a collection of songs left over from the Mirage sessions, before confirming that they ...
Foo Fighters performed a rousing cover of Queen’s “Somebody to Love” at their recent concert at The Canyon in Agoura Hills, California. It was the band’s first show since the start of the pandemic. Drummer Taylor Hawkins traded places with frontman Dave Grohl for the number, taking on Freddie Mercury’s iconic lyrics while the former Nirvana member stepped behind the drum kit. “Somebody, ooh somebody/ Can anybody find me somebody to love?” Hawkins howled over his bandmates’ hard-charging instrumentation. Before kicking off the classic, the long-haired drummer reminded the enthusiastic crowd he’s actually performed lead vocals on a number of Foo Fighters’ tracks over the years, including “Cold Day in the Sun” (off 2005’s In Your Honor) and “Sunday Rain” (from 2017’s Concrete and Gold). This ...

Happy ‘you goin’n to be 50 at midnight’ Birthday Pac! I got next. P.s I was planning to post tomorrow which is why the video says today is Pac’s bday. Leslie Feist has announced MULTITUDES, an upcoming live residency that will feature intimate performances of all-new songs. The limited capacity, in-the-round production was developed by the Canadian singer-songwriter with designer Rob Sinclair, who has worked with David Byrne, Peter Gabriel, and Tame Impala. It will feature custom 18-point D&B Soundscape immersive audio and is described in a press release as an “intimate, radically communal, and topsy-turvy concert that muddies the roles between audience and performer.” Musicians Todd Dahlhoff and Amir Yaghmai will accompany Feist during the shows. Created during and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, MULTITUDES aims to bring people back together. Audiences are encouraged to participate in the performances. Related Video MULTITUDES...
The Killers have joined forces with Bruce Springsteen to re-record their song “A Dustland Fairytale”. This new version, simply titled “Dustland”, was debuted by The Killers and Springsteen during a Wednesday morning appearance on The Today Show. The song is also available to stream on DSPs. This marks the first time The Killers and Springsteen have recorded together, which is surprising given just how indebted the band’s music is to The Boss’ (see: 2006’s Sam’s Town). As The Killers’ Brandon Flowers recounted in a statement posted to social media, the collaboration came about after Springsteen reached out to him via text. “I start getting some texts from a number I don’t have marked in my phone. ‘Watching Glastonbury. You guys have become one hellacious live band my brother! Love the gold ...
