Melodic bass star Champagne Drip is looking to keep the ball rolling in 2021 with his brand new Champagne Trip EP, released today by Wakaan. Although Champagne Drip is known for his otherworldly production, Champagne Trip is his heaviest collection of tunes yet. His unique sound is embodied beautifully throughout, though only the first single “In My Dreamz” features his usual mind-melting soundscapes. The rest of the record embraces a relentless sound with a dose of heavy, bone-shattering bass. “Acid Drop” is particularly ruthless, opening with ominous synths that quickly devolve into an immaculately wobbly drop. “Initiate” brings similar energy, but it isn’t quite as devastating. Its fluttery elements complement the hard-h...

Guns N’ Roses Release First New Song in 13 Years

Ever since Guns N’ Roses reenlisted Slash and Duff McKagan officially in 2016, the band has been touring on nostalgia and good memories. After talking about it for what feels like forever, it seems like there’s finally some new music on the way. After performing the song at the band’s show at Boston’s Fenway Park, GNR has officially unveiled “Absurd,” which (as sharp listeners have pointed out) is similar to a song called “Silkworms” that was part of the now-mythical Chinese Democracy sessions (and was a lot more electronic sounding back then as well). “But this is really kind of absurd for us to try this. Wasn’t that funny? And they don’t even know the joke yet. Ok, this is called ‘Absurd,’” Rose quipped at the show. The group teased its existence on social media earlier in the ...

Ahead of the Oct. 29 release of Time in the Sun on New West Records, the band released the video for “Get Down,” a catchy and fun tune with a much darker story behind it, according to lead singer Justin Osborne. “Although it carries a fun and lighthearted air, the song ‘Get Down’ was actually inspired by a scary time in my life when a close friend was battling substance abuse issues and openly discussing suicide with myself and our larger friend group,” Osborne tells SPIN. “I knew it was a cry for help, but at the same time, I was privately dealing with some of the same iss...
