Green Day Play a Whole Bunch of Rarities at Surprise Chicago Club Show

Ahead of their headlining performance at Lollapalooza on Sunday, Green Day played an imitate warmup show at Chicago’s Metro on Friday night. For fans who managed to score a ticket to the 1,100-persons capacity venue, they witnessed a career-spanning 28-song set that included a number of live rarities. Green Day seemingly treated the night as akin to a club show from their early days, playing most material from early albums like Kerplunk, Dookie, Insomniac, and Warning. Notably, the band performed “Warning” and “Church on Sunday” for the first time since 2001. They also delivered the first full band performance of “Watsername” since 2005. Pinkshift Announce Fall 2022 North American Tour

Baltimore punks Pinkshift are gearing up to release their debut album, and now, they’ve announced a run of 2022 North American tour dates, marking their first-ever headlining trek. Kicking off October 20th in their hometown, Pinkshift — singer Ashrita Kumar, guitarist Paul Vallejo, and drummer Myron Houngbedji — will perform in cities like DC, Detroit, Austin, and Brooklyn before wrapping up in Boston on November 18th. Jigsaw Youth and Yasmin Nur will provide support. Jello Biafra Says Upcoming Dead Kennedys Reissue Was “Intentionally” Done Behind His Back

In September, Dead Kennedys are releasing a 40th anniversary reissue of their debut album, Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, but former frontman Jello Biafra isn’t happy about it. In a message posted to the website for his label Alternative Tentacles. the DK co-founder claimed he was “intentionally” left in the dark about the project. “LISTEN BEFORE YOU BUY!! This was done almost totally behind my back. Travis Barker Hospitalized in Los Angeles

Travis Barker was hospitalized in Los Angeles on Tuesday for an undisclosed medical condition. According to TMZ, Barker checked himself into West Hills Hospital and Medical Center near Calabasas early Tuesday, and was later taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for additional care. Representatives for Barker have not publicly commented on the drummer’s condition. Barker himself tweeted, “God save me,” around 10:45 a.m. local time. His daughter, Alabama Luella Barker, asked her followers to “please send your prayers” in an Instagram story posted on Tuesday evening. THICK Announce New Album Happy Now and 2022 Tour Dates

THICK have announced their second album Happy Now. It arrives August 19th via Epitaph Records, and the Brooklyn trio have also released the LP’s first single, “Loser,” as well as dates to their upcoming fall headlining tour. Preoccupations Announce New Album Arrangements, Share “Ricochet”: Stream

Preoccupations have revealed their upcoming fourth LP Arrangements, which is set to arrive on September 9th. The four-piece also unveiled the album’s lead single, “Ricochet,” as well as dates for their North American tour this fall. Arrangements was recorded in two parts: first in a series of studio sessions in Montreal during Fall 2019 where most of the album’s bedrock instrumentation was recorded, and then in individual home studio setups over a period of 16 months amid COVID-19 lockdowns, where each band member completed their parts and tinkered with new ideas separately.
