Jean-Marc Vallée, the Canadian filmmaker behind films such as Dallas Buyers Club and Wild, as well as the HBO series Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects, has died at the age of 58. Vallée died suddenly over the weekend in his cabin near Quebec City, according to The Hollywood Reporter. His cause of death was not immediately disclosed. In a statement announcing his passing, Vallée’s longtime producer partner Nathan Ross wrote, “Jean-Marc stood for creativity, authenticity and trying things differently. He was a true artist and a generous, loving guy. Everyone who worked with him couldn’t help but see the talent and vision he possessed. He was a friend, creative partner and an older brother to me. The maestro will sorely be missed but it comforts knowing his beautiful style and impactful work ...
It’s been more than two and a half years since Game of Thrones aired its series finale, and Peter Dinklage is finally speaking out about the fan backlash to the polarizing episode. In a profile with The New York Times, the actor who played Tyrion Lannister for all eight seasons of the hit fantasy drama quipped, “[Fans] wanted the pretty white people to ride off into the sunset together. By the way, it’s fiction. There’s dragons in it. Move on.” Taking a more serious tone, Dinklage added, “No, but the show subverts what you think, and that’s what I love about it. Yeah, it was called Game of Thrones, but at the end, the whole dialogue when people would approach me on the street was, ‘Who’s going to be on the throne?’ I don’t know why that was their takeaway because the show really was more t...
Donald Glover has revealed the first full-length trailer for Atlanta’s long-awaited third season. Watch it below. As revealed earlier this week, Season 3 of FX’s award-winning dramedy starring Donald Glover, Lakeith Stanfield, Zazie Beetz, and Brian Tyree Henry will arrive March 24th — three years after it was originally slated to premiere in 2019 (it was ultimately delayed due to the pandemic). As fans will remember, Season 2 left off with Tracy (Khris Davis) showing up at “Paper Boi”‘s (Henry) apartment, not realizing the rising rapper had already left on his European tour. (We’d say “spoiler alert, but it’s been, you know, nearly four years…) Per to a logline provided by FX, Season 3 finds “Paper Boi,” Earn (Glover), Darius (Stanfield), and Van (Beetz) in the midst of the aforementioned...
Kaycee is a champion of Spies, Lies and Allies, but her road to victory meant she had to defeat girlfriend Nany at the final (pun intended) hour. Even though there is a happy ending for the lovebirds because they are still together — and Kaycee nabbed her share of the $1 million prize with CT — there were plenty of tears as the former Purple Cell teammates relived the “Back Up Off Me” elimination during the Season 37 reunion. “It was the weirdest feeling,” the historic Big Brother and Challenge champ reflected to host Maria Menounos and the Challenge cast. “I love to win. I’m going to do whatever it takes. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life. I was like, ‘Damn. I cannot go all out with this girl.'” Silver me...
Casey happily shared last month that she was expecting a “mini all stars” in March 2022. But that was only the beginning: Challenge cameras were rolling as the Fresh Meat alum learned that she and her then-fiancé (now husband!) Kyle would be parents. During this week’s All Stars episode, Casey admitted that she had been feeling more tired than usual and had “counted a lot of days” (aka she was late). “I overthink things a lot, and this could all be related to stress being in this environment, but I’m an accountant,” Casey stated in a confessional, as she privately prepared to take a pregnancy test. “So I’ve done the math and, at this point, I’m fairly certain there’s a very solid chance that I could be pregnant.”...
[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers through the season finale of Hawkeye, “The Boss.”] 2021 was the MCU’s busiest year to date, thanks to films and shows delayed by the pandemic. It was also a period rich with the inclusion of new voices behind the scenes and on-screen, as well as some of the franchise’s most experimental storytelling to date. From WandaVision breaking all the fourth walls to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings incorporating wuxia and mythical wonder to Loki giving us the gift of Richard E. Grant in that costume, Marvel delivered some truly wild moments. Given all of that, it could have been the case that Hawkeye, now having completed its six-episode run on Disney+, would have ended up being a bit of an afterthought. Instead, the complete series may not f...

W. Kamau Bell is tackling the legacy of Bill Cosby in a new documentary. Today, the director and comedian announced We Need to Talk About Cosby, a four-part docu-series set to hit Showtime next year, and shared the first trailer for the project. The series juggles the reputation Cosby built as “America’s Dad” with the horrific serial abuser he was behind closed doors. In its first trailer, Bell — known for similarly thoughtful content like the docu-series United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell, the podcast Politically Re-Active, and the book Do the Work: An Anti-Racist Activity Book — attempts to reconcile these opposing personas as a comedian inspired by Cosby himself. “I am a child of Bill Cosby,” Bell says. “I’m a Black man and a comic born in the ’70s. Bill Cosby ha...
