Who Will Call A Truce First On Jersey Shore: Angelina Or Deena?

Now that Deena and Angelina are both under the same (very massive) family vacation Las Vegas roof, it’s only a matter of time before they come face to face. And someone is going to have to initiate contact. Tonight’s Jersey Shore episode featured the aftermath of Deena discovering the dreaded “double booking,” and it wasn’t pretty. Even though it’s been eight months 10 months and five days since speechgate, the pregnant meatball was beside herself in tears. “I get that you guys want us to get together and talk, but I’m not doing it here. Especially being super-early pregnant. I just can’t put myself in the position where I’m going to see this girl,” Deena said. Luckily, the gang saved face by flying ...

The Stand, Explained: We Need to Talk About Harold

Listen via Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Play | Radio Public | Stitcher | RSS At long last, Stephen King’s epic novel The Stand hits CBS All Access. Languishing for years in development hell, the journey from page to screen has been almost as long and arduous as the cross-country treks taken by its characters. Yet, it’s hard to think of a more perfect timing for this story of destruction and renewal than amidst a global pandemic. Beyond the pandemic parable, larger themes of taking a stand against persuasive evil are central to this story as well. The series opens with a dire warning and call to action from an unseen Mother Abigail (Whoopi Goldberg) that not only fits King’s story, but could easily be interpreted as a message to vi...

Challenge Trades: Who’s Got the Upper Hand After The Partner Switch-Ups?

If the second Double Agents episode is any indication, few competitors will leave the game with the same partner they began with on Day 1. On tonight’s installment, it seemed only Fessy and Aneesa had secured solid footing as a duo. For the second week in a row, they were named victors, and after a decisive win in “Ice Spy,” a game of last man standing (mixed with swimming in frigid water), many of the game’s remaining players began voicing concern about less-than-ideal partnerships. Nany, for one, said she loved Kyle but was less than impressed with his drive to succeed, and she was eager to get a new second-hand man (she even pitched Fessy at the bar). Similarly, Big T had grown wary of her connection to newbie Joseph, who’d introduced himself to the game by falling asleep at the b...

‘It Takes A Village’: This Is How Far Kail, Jo And Vee Have Come On Teen Mom 2

Kailyn and Vee “have grown up together” — and on this week’s episode of Teen Mom 2, it was apparent how far Jo’s ex and Jo’s wife have really come. Kail and Vee — who memorably shared an emotional embrace on the Season 9 reunion after a not-so-great start when Jo began dating his future spouse back on Season 3 — began working together on a brand-new podcast called “Baby Mamas No Drama.” The perfect guest made an appearance on the show — and his name is Jo. “It’s always exciting to have you two in the same room,” Isaac and Vivi’s dad gushed about the women while they recorded the podcast. “It’s pretty awesome. I’m excited to see you guys taking a new journey together.” Jo admitt...

Lizzie McGuire Reboot No Longer Happening

Sadly, the Lizzie McGuire reboot is no longer happening. On Wednesday, Hilary Duff shared a post to her Instagram in which she briefly explained that the Disney+ revival of her iconic series has been scrapped entirely. “I know the efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work but, sadly and despite everyone’s best efforts, it isn’t going to happen,” Duff wrote in the post. Although she didn’t give a specific reason as to what ultimately killed the production, which was first announced in August 2019, Duff reiterated that she had hoped to take the Lizzie McGuire character — who was supposed to be 30 — in a more adult-friendly direction from the 13-year-old she played in the show’s original run from 2001-2004. Back in February, Duff publicly stated that she want...

Rick James Biographical Series in the Works

Rick James has one of the craziest life stories in music history, and now a TV show is in the works to tell it. Universal Studio Group’s UCP is developing a limited series called Super Freak that will detail the late soul icon’s music career and myriad legal issues. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is describing the series “a funkadelic mix of music biopic and true crime” that will trace the singer’s come-up in the ’60s, the “Super Freak” years of the ’80s, and his mid-90s comeback that was derailed by kidnapping and assault charges and a debilitating crack addiction. Randy McKinnon (author of Notes From a Young Black Chef and screenwriter for Netflix’s Grand Army) has been tapped to write and co- executive produce the series alongside a host of other EP’s. Am...

HBO Max Finally Arriving on Roku This Week

Over 200 days after it was launched, HBO Max is finally set to arrive on the popular Roku platform. HBO Max has some great programming, but its first year of existence has been nothing if not messy. Beyond the confusion of what the heck HBO Max is versus HBO Go/Now, there’s been the varied availability on TV platforms. It only just arrived on Amazon Fire last month, then earlier this week snuck onto Xfinity X1 and Xfinity Flex, followed closely by PlayStation 5. This left Roku out in the cold as the last remaining platform on which users didn’t have HBO Max access. And PS5 wasn’t even on the market when WarnerMedia’s streaming service arrived, adding insult to injury. Now, however, Roku and Warner have finally announced they’ve come to terms and will launch HBO Max on the Roku channel stor...
