Christopher Meloni appears in the buff — and boy, do we mean buff — in a new Peloton ad celebrating National Nude Day. “Some people think the way I work out is strange,” the Law and Order star says, lawlessly naked except for a blur protecting the identity of his little perp. The minute-long commercial shows the the 61-year-old lifting, stretching, crunching his abs, and running out in public, much to the approval of a dog, for some reason. Is this clip weird? Yes, unfathomably weird. But you’re not here to weigh the merits of a Peloton subscription, you’re here to see some assets. Take a peek below. In 2021, Meloni rejoined the Law and Orderverse, reprising his role as Detective Stabler in the SVU spinoff Organized Crime. The year before, he appeare...

The sky turns red and flames lick the top of massive pinnacle in the second teaser trailer for Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. It’s a vision of doom, experienced by Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), though whether it’s also an early glimpse of Mount Doom remains to be seen. Not everyone seems to believe her. “You have fought long enough, Galadriel. Put up your sword,” Elrond (Robert Amayo) says in the trailer. “It is over.” “You have not seen what I have seen,” she replies. And when he counters, “I have seen my share,” she repeats herself slowly, as if biting off every word: “You have not seen what I have seen.” Advertisement Related Video Elsewhere in the trailer we get our first glimpse of Isildur (Maxim Baldry), as well as other denizens of the...
We hope you’re hungry, because FX has just greenlit a second season of their hit new series The Bear. The Jeremy Allen White-starring drama has been renewed less than a month after all eight episodes of Season 1 premiered on June 23rd, Variety points out. The Bear follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (White), a young chef who — after a stint in a prestigious New York City restaurant — returns home to Chicago to run his family’s sandwich shop following his older brother’s sudden death. Carmy must process his grief as he attempts to revive the feeble Italian beef joint; thankfully, he has the help of Sydney (Ayo Edibiri), an overqualified new hire among the kitchen’s ragtag crew of delinquent employees. “The Bear has exceeded our wildest creative, critical and commercial expectations,” FX Enterta...
Eddie Munson may have been the breakout character of Stranger Things Season 4, a point proven by Netflix’s latest piece of marketing, a huge crop art installation the streaming service commissioned in his image. A new video, shot in a field “somewhere in Indiana,” shows a huge piece of crop art by artist Stan Herd depicting the beloved metalhead in all his glory. The aerial shots of the artwork are soundtracked, of course, by Metallica’s “Master of Puppets,” a fitting tribute for the character. “Eddie Munson 4 Ever,” the design reads. It leaves you wondering how far in advance Netflix commissioned the environmental piece, which was surely a lot of work, but apparently the streamer is always 10 steps ahead of the rest of us. Check out the crop art below. Actor Joseph Quinn did a lot of...
Last year, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk spun off camp favorite American Horror Story into the anthology series American Horror Stories. Come July 21st, the spinoff returns with Installment 2, and in its freshly released trailer, ghosts, serial killers, and freaky dolls terrorize such stars as Alicia Silverstone, Bella Thorne, and Max Greenfield. Where American Horror Story took us on season-long journeys through haunted asylums, hotels, and freak shows, American Horror Stories offers a new, self-contained adventure every week. In the trailer for Installment 2, Silverstone attempts to clear a clogged bathtub drain, only to discover someone, not something, is the culprit. Meanwhile, Thorne and Greenfield play skeptics, as Greenfield denies the existence of ghosts and Thor...
The thing about the Emmy Awards is that there are so many of them. When the nominations are announced each fateful annual Tuesday in July, the nice folks who show up early to announce them (this year, J.B. Smooth and Melissa Fumero were charming and capable) only cover a fraction of what’s then posted online in a massive PDF document (this year’s is 58 pages long). Buried within this document are no shortage of delights and surprises, which may not make headlines but do warrant a little attention. So here are this year’s unexpected favorites: Shows you might have thought would go totally ignored by the TV Academy, stars who you might not have even known were working in television, and seriously overdue talent finally getting their roses. Chadwick Boseman’s Posthumous Nod <img data-lazy-...
The Pitch: Taking on a new installment in the sprawling Resident Evil media franchise is a daunting task. Since the groundbreaking survival horror video game was released in 1996, there have been more than a dozen games that provided source material for six Milla Jovovich-starring films, three animated movies, and a CGI Netflix series. With such a rich backstory to pull from, Netflix’s new live-action series, simply titled Resident Evil, centers around one of the franchise’s most memorable villains, Albert Wesker (Lance Reddick), while creating a new set of characters around him. In 2022, Wesker moves his twin teenage daughters Jade (Tamara Smart) and Billie (Siena Agudong) to the sterile corporate housing of New Raccoon City to be closer to his work for the nefarious Umbrella Corporation ...
The 2022 Emmy Awards will air September 12 on NBC and Peacock, and during a livestream on Tuesday (July 12), comedian JB Smoove and Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Melissa Fumero unveiled this year’s nominees. As always, there were some expected nominations, but there were also quite a few surprises. Succession is in the lead in garnering the most nominations with a total of 25 nods, including one for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong. Ted Lasso and White Lotus followed with a total of 20 nominations, especially in Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Several White Lotus stars including Murray Bartlett, Jennifer Coolidge, and Sydney Sweeney scored nominations in Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actre...
In the era of so much TV, each Emmy Awards nominations morning brings with it a degree of chaos. In 2022, that remains consistent, though there are familiar faces returning to the dance as well as fresh voices. As many predicted, the third season of Succession (which dominated in 2020) was the nominations count leader with 25, including what feels like a metric ton of acting nominations across nearly all categories. Meanwhile, Netflix’s three big plays in the drama series category — Ozark, Stranger Things, and Squid Game — didn’t perform outrageously well. All did secure Outstanding Drama Series nods, though, and with 14 nominations for Squid Game and 13 each for Ozark and Stranger Things, that’s nothing to sneeze at. Apple TV+’s Severance (Consequence‘s best show of 2022 so far) also pick...
There’s plenty of evidence yet to be uncovered in Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building, but as far as the suits at Hulu are concerned, the jury is in: The beloved mystery sitcom that follows Charles Haden-Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) has been renewed for Season 3. The series, which shows a trio of true crime aficionados attempting to solve real life murders, has quickly become a favorite at Hulu. “Only Murders in the Building is the true crown jewel of our slate,” Craig Erwich, President, Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment, said in a statement. “Its appeal across generations, the intersection of humor and heart, and its truly original approach are a hallmark of and testament to Dan, John, Steve, Marty and Selena’s w...
Disney and HYBE have forged a new partnership, and their first order of business is producing a series of projects featuring the members of BTS. According to The Hollywood Reporter, HYBE — the South Korean entertainment company in charge of BTS’ record label, Big Hit — has signed on to create five titles with the Mouse House for Disney+, including three exclusive projects featuring BTS or some of its members. The first is BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage — LA, a concert film immortalizing the group’s November 2021 performance at Los Angeles’ Sofi Stadium, which marked their first in-person live event since 2019. The second project, In the Soup: Friendcation, is a travel reality show that sees BTS’ V, Itaewon Class’ Seo-jun Park, Parasite star Woo-shik Choi, Hyung-sik P...
