Better Call Saul’s Mid-Season Premiere Proves That Compelling Prequels Are Possible: Review

[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for Better Call Saul, Season 4 Episode 8, “Point and Shoot.”] After tonight, the number of remaining Better Call Saul episodes can be counted on one hand, and “Point and Shoot” does an exquisite job of making clear why that is so simultaneously exciting and sad. While it’s yet to be seen if one of TV’s great artistic achievements will fully stick the landing, the beginning of the show’s final run of new episodes packs an entire season’s worth of stress into its slightly extended runtime, while also continuing to deliver the kind of nuanced, character-driven moments which make the show so unforgettable. It’s a pretty remarkable achievement given the nature of the series, which jumps back and forth occasionally in its timeline but for the bulk ...

‘Do I Have To Start All Over Again?’: Angelina Is Questioning Her Future On Family Vacation

It’s official: The Inspiration is reporting for duty. And no one needs him now more than Angelina. Tonight’s Jersey Shore: Family Vacation saw the Staten Island native “in a really bad spot” due to ongoing divorce proceedings and a fizzled relationship with Luis, her former All Star Shore castmate. One minute, Luis was wooing her with chicken quesadillas and they were making love having sex, and the next, Ang was lying in bed, heartbroken. “Luis, at one point, made me feel very good about myself. He actually made me feel more liked in three days than my husband made me feel in three years,” she said. “But I have to start learning from an early stage if I see a f*cking red flag, I have to be out. Believe what ...

Parker Just Threatened To Kick Everybody Out Of The Buckhead Shore House

Parker isn’t being the most gracious of hosts at the Buckhead Shore — in fact, he just threatened to “kick everybody out” of his lake house. Tonight’s episode of the new MTV series picked up where last week’s cliffhanger left off, with the Head Buck confessing to Savannah that he hooked up with Katie. But before Sav was willing to forgive and move on, she wanted to speak to the group’s queen bae. For her part, Katie didn’t hesitate to apologize for her revenge text, and the two hugged it out over shared heartaches and the highs and lows of dating Parker. “It’s toxic. And that’s not real love,” Katie shared. “If it does make you feel better, he literally did the same thing to me when I was 18 or 19. He was talking...

‘Now It’s Real’: TJ Lavin Formally Welcomes The Challenge: USA Cast

A new season of The Challenge cannot officially begin without the cast getting a warm welcome from host TJ Lavin. And the brand-new CBS series The Challenge: USA is no different from previous MTV seasons. Yes — “now it’s real!” So how does the longtime host greet everyone? “Buenas noches,” a grinning TJ states in the sneak peek above. [Spoiler] Just Made The Challenge: All Stars History

Jonna has just etched her name into a rare place the All Stars history books: The Challenge competitor is the only player to appear in every final from Season 1 to Season 3. Even more impressive: The Real World: Cancun alum is the first-ever back-to-back champ on the Paramount+ series and the first woman to win two seasons in a row as a solo player without a designated partner. “I see the chest, and Wes, and I’ve won twice,” Jonna tearfully reflected in a confessional as footage of her hugging the male winner played. “I did it!” Yes, she did it — and secured $250,000 again. And now that the mother of two has had time to reflect and soak in the unique feeling of being named the victor of AS twice, how would she compare the highly coveted Ws? “Winnin...

The Rehearsal Confirms Nathan Fielder Is a Comic Visionary: Review

The Pitch: Comedy has long mined the rich vein of desire running within most average citizens for fame — or at least some kind of recognition. That yen for the spotlight is what allowed ’60s duo Coyle and Sharpe and modern day bellower Billy Eichner to turn “man on the street” interviews into improvised gold and fed the creation of far too many prank shows. It’s also a craving that Nathan Fielder has spent the last decade twisting to absurdist ends, both on his acclaimed Comedy Central series Nathan For You and in his behind-the-scenes work on shows like How To with John Wilson and Sacha Baron Cohen’s Who Is America? In each one, everyday people willingly put themselves under the eye of a TV camera, often revealing too much of themselves in the process. The results are either damning, hear...
