Amazon Prime Video has officially unveiled a new teaser trailer for Carrie, its upcoming television series adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel. Created and directed by horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan, all eight episodes of the series are set to debut on the streaming platform on October 7.
The series serves as a timely reimagining of misfit high-schooler Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), who enters public high school following the sudden death of her father after spending her life in seclusion with her domineering mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). As Carrie struggles to navigate a community-shattering bullying scandal, she simultaneously contends with the sudden emergence of her telekinetic powers.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios alongside executive producer Trevor Macy, the cast includes Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle, and Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, alongside Alison Thornton, Thalia Dudek, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, and Joel Oulette. Flanagan serves as writer, executive producer, showrunner, and director, marking his latest collaboration with longtime lead actor Sloyan.
Carrie premieres globally on October 7 on Amazon Prime Video.
